Fitting words from a book I just finished reading

Friday, January 24, 2014

“Remember this – life is a like a stairway. We begin our lives at the first step and continue upward until our death. The stairs for some will be many, while for others, they will be few. Some will find their stairs hard and difficult to climb, others will traverse life’s path with little effort.

But the real importance of life lies in the knowledge that we have lived each and every day to its fullest without worry for tomorrow.

Finally there is an old Jewish saying: as he thinks in his heart, so he is.

The above words were from the ebook : Truth’s Lair – Perils of the Dead Man’s Diary by J. Richard Knapps

Wish I could paint like this....as I am sure I could find a spot to display them....

Dad meeting Jackson (pic)

Saturday, January 26, 2013

I took dad to meet his great great grandson today. He said he had forgotten how small babies were but he was sure smiling while holding him that little guy.

There was one bittersweet moment when he mentioned my brother Dave and how he just couldn't get over the fact that Dave was gone. But he also said that a new life came into the world too. (For those who don't know my brother died just last month after a battle with cancer)

I know you both miss Dave and will always.

Thanks for sharing. Now you have pictures of both of you and that cute little guy. What a wonderful blessing.

You knew I had to do it post a picture of my great grandson Jackson (my first great grandchild)

Monday, January 14, 2013

I got to hold that precious boy for the first time today. He is a little doll with all his dark hair and so tiny (he weighed 5lb 6oz when he was born on January 9. It has been a long long time since I held a baby. Needless to say it was Love at First Sight.

Wallhanging for my great grandson.

Saturday, January 05, 2013

Did I tell you that I will be a great grandma next week. Am I excited - yes I am.

Jackson is to be born on January 9 and I love to sew, paint do crafts so I made this for his room which they have decorated in a baseball theme. I also made the teddy bear to use in place of a bow on the package. The bear is very basic with nothing that can be broken off and swallowed. I even made the shirt with a velcro closure.

Now that this project is done its time to find a new one.

Did you have a pattern for the bear? I have been thinking about making a doll quilt out of the fabric was left from both of my step-great-grands' baby quilts to give them on their first birthday this year, and those doll quilts might go very well over a sweet bear.
