No pictures for this one LOL I've been seeing many articles on SparkPeople tying our physical lives into our Spark journey. I have been working on purging the house and lately recycled 4 huge bags of paper- mostly magazines. This is a huge victory for me, WOOT!
I came home from the gym last night and ate some hummus. I soon felt just aweful. During the night, I spent a lot of time in the bathroom and did not sleep much. The results of this purge did not make me very happy. I actually discovered a very quick way to loose weight, 2 1/2 pounds ... but I can't recommend it.
This morning, I am trying to regroup and come to terms with being ill. I'm actually thinking that it might have been food poisoning due to the dramatic results of my meal. So far, so good, just very slow. On the bright side, it's very easy to track my food today, I've eaten a carrot and drank a cup of tea. I have thought about the BRAT diet, but I am not ready yet.
All my outside work is done now, I think the next thing on my to do list is going to be a nap.

Sorry to hear you were so sick. Food poisoning makes you feel like you've been hit by a truck so you definitely have my sympathy! Had to laugh at your comment about tracking being easy when you have a digestive illness. Way to go keeping your sense of humor and looking at the bright side! Hope you are feeling better. emoticon

I wonder where my car is (under that snow bank), I wonder where the barn is... Oops- see those "ears" to the right of the barn? That is a 16.1 hh horse. I guess I better go feed :-)

Thanks for all your kind comments. The sun is out today and the snow will be melting all week :-) I am glad it is warmer, but we might actually get some rain tomorrow. That will be an interesting weather event on top of 3+ feet of snow.
The horses always have the option of getting into a 80'x14' loafing shed that runs alongside the barn's length. Just like us, they like to get outside and MOVE! They all have blankets/sheets, heated water etc.! It is just like having kids to take care of 24/7. In this weather, they are doing airs above the ground- more fun to watch than TV.
Well, I've got to return to the fray; it's a shovel marathon kind of day :-) emoticon

Thank you for commenting on my "snow blog". Now, you have REAL snow. OMG. I had to show my husband your barn and horse ears. We have two horses (no barn) and 3 acres, but our horses are spoiled Southern California horses. My husband watches the temperatures and blankets them if it is going to be below 45 degrees during the night. I always chuckle and ask him what our horses would do in "real" weather.
Stay warm and have a good weekend.

The Mother of Invention

I have invented the "Salad Sandwich". I make a regular sandwich and then turn it into a "Dagwood Special" by adding as many greens and lettuce as I can pack in it.

Oh my gosh I do this all the time I pack it full like you do!!! My husband always laughs when he sees my sandwich, sometimes the lettuce & spinach hangs so far over you cannot see the crust of the bread. I have a place where I buy lettuce that is grown in water the best I ever ate & it is so green. Take care & happy packing that healthy sandwich!!!!!

Battle Cry!

Friday, November 30, 2012

The word is rally! We have passed one milestone, Thanksgiving and are now headed into the gauntlet of temptations as we get closer to Christmas and New Year's Day. I am using Indy Girl's quote as my mantra, "Loose, maintain; just don't gain". So far, so good- I am up for the challenge :-)
