Finished the Komen Race for the Cure 5K this morning in 30:44, which beats my previous best of 30:58. Very happy, a great way to end the summer. :)

Had another great bike ride this morning. I bumped up my route to 28 miles in hopes of making it take a full 2 hours, but I rode so fast that I did it in 1 hour and 54 minutes. emoticon Burned about 1200 calories and my average speed was 14.74 mph, WOW! It feels awesome to be able to do that. Love the trails and bike paths around here!!

Did another 5K

This time it took a few minutes longer, but it was also at 6pm and it was 78 degrees and humid, and there was a hill that was a LOT bigger than I expected a mile into the course. The biggest factor, though in the longer time I believe it that I gave blood about 3 weeks ago. I have noticed a big difference in my performance after I give blood and it definitely takes awhile to get back to normal. I am still quite satisfied with my results, my main goal was to not stop jogging the entire race, and I met my goal! emoticon ...and placed 13th in my age/gender group again, LOL! :)

My first 5K

The 5K race was this morning. It was a pretty cool experience and I will definitely do it again. It is so different running in a group like that, versus running by myself or at the gym. I am proud to say I beat my personal best time by over a minute. I finished 132nd out of about 500 people, and in my age group I was 13th out of 52. I feel pretty dang good today :)

more jogging

Well I did some more jogging at the gym yesterday... 6.04 miles in 70 minutes. That is the longest and farthest I've ever gone. 5.2 mph isn't very fast, but I an only 5'1" and my legs are pretty short LOL! It seems kind of weird that it is so much easier to jog outside than it is at the gym, I thought it was supposed to be the other way around? Maybe it's because when I'm outside I'm actually getting somewhere?

My only problem is that I am still having chafing, despite that I bought some anti-chafing stuff and put it all over my usual chafing areas. I guess I really just need to switch to workout specific shirts instead of cotton t-shirts, I just have such a hard time wearing fitted or sleeveless tops because I don't like how much things bounce around because of loose skin. Sighhhh.

    I was amazed at how much better I feel when I wear a tech-shirt. What I do is wear it under my regular t-shirt. It wicks moisture away from my skin and my clothes, which makes me more comfortable. Now if only I could find a sports bra that fits a 46F!
