Update on things

Tuesday, September 02, 2008

Hi everyone,

Well I'm trying to get into writing my nutrition tracker and start exercising. Between losing my dog, other personal problems and working a temporary part time job I kind of lost my way.
The job is over though. It made it hard. Some days I didn't eat all day except for a quick breakfast and then dinner. That led to my evening snacks which I have a horrible time controlling.

I'm working on my vision collage, reading inspirational things and cleaning my house clutter.

I'm going to try to get my exercising into a routine because that's been my hardest thing to start.

Oh, I almost forgot, I lost another 4lbs. for a total of 8 now. I didn't lose it in the healthiest way though.

Take care everyone. I'll be checking some blogs and writing. emoticon

Ups and downs

Sunday, July 20, 2008

Well it's been a week of ups and downs. My dog didn't last even a couple of weeks. We took her in Fri. the 18th. to the Veterinarian and held her as we said good-bye. Very down because of the loss.
I checked the scale and haven't lost anything, but haven't gained either. I'm OK with that for the week I've had.
The upside is, I've started exercising, missing 2 days because of my dog but making one up on Saturday. I also can easily look back at the week and know why I didn't lose any weight. I almost always stay within my calorie plan but I eat too much fat and protein. I still eat after dinner. I'm working on it though.
The big upside is the more I'm here the more I'm inspired and drawn to the Lord. This is huge because since I became depressed years ago my walk with the Lord dwindled to nothing except knowing He's there and wondering why I don't feel close to Him.
The forums I'm on help inspire me and I've been reading inspirational books and my Bible some. I plan on trying out a church next week.
This week I'm focusing on God, my family, eating less fat and exercising more!
Hope everyone is doing well. emoticon

Week 2

Sunday, July 13, 2008

Well I just finished week 2. I lost 3lbs. the first week and 1 the second week. I'm not doing too well with my night eating problem or my exercise program.
I saw the forum for emotional eaters and might look there and maybe join.
The exercising I have no excuse. I have a treadmill and stretch bands and umpteen videos.
Today starts a new week and I am going to really try to make at least the 3 days of strength training and 3 to 5 days of cardio. I do better at cardio if I do it everyday rather then so many days a week. I used to exercise daily except for Sunday. That's what I'm working toward.

I posted a blog but deleted it about my dog. Abby is 13 and has cancer. We don't expect her to be here for much longer even though the last 2 weeks were a check up and tests. We've only known for sure since sometime last week, I can't even remember the day the results came in.
She seemed to be doing well but is going downhill fast. The Dr. did say it would probably be only 2 weeks to a month before her breathing became too hard for her to feel good. She isn't eating her own food either. We feed her what we know she'll eat now but she's still losing weight. This with her and a couple of other things have me feeling more depressed everyday. I'm going to stay the course with my plans though. I want to be healthy. I think week 3 will be hardest with my dog rather then getting on track with my exercising. I don't know what to do about the night eating. emoticon

One week of continuous SP!

Saturday, July 05, 2008

I've made it one week and one day of continuous logging, messages, and reading in SP.
What has it done for me!?! I've lost three pounds. I've joined three spark teams. I written on the message board. I've kept my daily nutrion page up and have drunk 8 or 9 glasses of water the last half of my week. Let me tell you, 8 glasses a day for me was unheard of.
I've read articles and multiple peoples spark pages. I've gained a friend on my spark page and received a spark goodie.
The MOST important of all...I've done a daily reading in my Time With God, The New Testament. I feel like I'm gaining strength everyday.
Thank you sparkguy for starting such a wonderful site and thank all of you for the helpful support and joy I see that everyone gets from seeing each other work toward their goals.
