So, today is the start of a new month, the beginning of the true summer season and the opportunity to do it right this entire month.
I couldn't have asked for a better start to the day. I met some Fabulous Fitness friends this morning. Carolyn, Amy, Lisa and Tiffany! What awesome people. I had met Amy once before so it was nice to see her again. Carolyn was so beautiful in person-just ask the two little boys who approached our table and told her how beautiful she was! :-) Bubbly, friendly, supportive, fit!. I truly enjoyed this great group of ladies and the time we had together today.
I've never taken a yoga class. Carolyn led us in yoga today for over an hour. I can honestly say that I enjoyed it and can even see me looking into taking yoga some now. Thanks Carolyn!
We had lunch and talked and it's always nice to hear others experiences and trials and tribulations.
I'm excited Carolyn IS coming to our NOVA Sparkers meet up next Saturday, so I will have another chance to see her smiling face.
I'd been searching online for a fitness journal to take with me to the gym. Not a lot out there , at least that I could find, but I did order one and it arrived yesterday.
It's not as pretty as Amy's new one, but it will serve it's purpose.
I also picked up the new Oxygen Bookazine and am looking forward to trying some of the recipes.
July WILL be an awesome month for me!

Today I started a new Spark People challenge. I'm adding 5 new recipes a week to my nutrition plan. I took "before the challenge" pics and will post after pics monthly until the challenge ends in a few months.
I am eating clean most of the time. All the frozen, sodium laden foods are gone from the freezer, replaced with containers of meals I made up myself. Until our garden comes in, I've been visiting the local farmers market every Sunday to stock the refrigerators with lots of produce.
Our first tomato was ready yesterday, still at least a month for everything else
Yesterday I made lasagne from ground chicken breast. I added lots of veggies: spinach, broccoli, orange bell pepper, onion and zucchini. I layered it with homemade tomato sauce from last years garden, whole wheat lasagna noodles and fat free ricotta cheese. It was delicious.
This was me 2 years ago:
These are the pics from today.
I really enjoy exercise these days. A few years ago, you would have never heard me say that! I'm enjoying strength training, Zumba and bike riding the most.
I've come a long way, but I still have a ways to go. I am 100% confident that I can do it!
