We went to a small, family owned and run, Aloha Zoo. It's on 60 acres of land and has a surprising amount of exotic animals all throughout it. We went through the little areas first where you could pet some animals and then we took a 30 minute wagon ride through the rest. We saw zebras, kangaroos, camels, emu's, a zhorse (which was a gorgeous cinnamon color)water buffalo, pigs, porcupines and tons of other things. I would have had a lot more pictures, but dummy me left my memory card in my laptop so I only got a few with my phone.

I started our garden this week with some cool weather items. I planted various lettuces, spinach, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, sweet and white potatoes and kale. The plants are only about 2 inches high at the moment (except the potatoes which are underground), but the weather is nice and we've had some nice rains so they should take off soon.
I can hardly wait til mid May when I can plant everything else. We plant zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, butternut and buttercup squash, tomatoes, beets, sugar pumpkins, turnips, corn, green beans, cabbage, and a ton of different peppers. Also watermelons and canteloupe. On one side of the house we have grapes, strawberries, blueberries, black berries and raspberries.
Last year we had a great year and had way too much produce to ever think about using. I took huge grocery bags into work and gave stuff away to a lot of people each week. I'll share again this year with anyone close!
