My Little Rattie of the Month for February!

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

emoticonwhat a fun place to get fit and healthy! I was so happy to find out my precious little doggie, Sadie is the "Rat Terrier of the Month" on my Rattie Team! I feel proud and honored. She has been my companion emoticonand walking partner for years! emoticonShe is the emoticondog ever!!! I am just so thankful to have had such an emoticonmember of my family in my little pooch Sadie Mae, yes she has a middle name! Sadie has helped me chart many miles walking since I joined Spark People 2 years ago. Pet's are such wonderful additions to our lives. They kiss our faces in affection with those wet and wiggly tongues. They cuddle up next to us when we need unconditional love. They look so lovingly at us with those tender eyes. They help to get our bodies movin' and to take a walk no matter what the weather is! emoticon emoticon emoticon
This month Sadie is certain;ly going to get extra pampering, in fact in my opinion she 's the rat terrier of every month at my house, and I'm so blessed to have that little friend in my life.
Thank you for honoring Sadie, my fellow team mates, she has the "Ratitude" to do the job right!!! Hugs to Sadie and all my pet lovin' friends!!! emoticon emoticonInga

Awww ... you sure do know how to make a Rat Terrier "Grandma" cry with your sweet words about Sadie Mae and how much she means to you.
emoticon
If Sadie could write I'm sure she'd be saying beautiful words about you too!

Congratulations again to our wonderful February Rat Terrier of the Month. So happy that she gets pampered every month - - she really deserves it!
- LOVE YOU BOTH -

Yay for Sadie! I have a puggle and a Collie...I love them both so much! The puggle has a wrinkled little face and an underbite, so cute! Pets are so important in our lives, aren't they? Congrats again, Sadie!

Sadie looks just like my Tigger did when she was young. My husband was looking at these pictures and asked if it was Tigger. They have the same color and same markings, except Tigger's nubby tail is solid black.

Congratulations on Sadie being the Rattie of the Month...she is a sweetheart and I am glad she has been such a help for you.

What an awesome companion you have in Sadie! When my husband and I teach Precana classes, we tell our engaged couples -- think about how much your relationship would be transformed if you met your spouse at the door the way the dog does!

Congratulations to both of you for a well-deserved honor.

My 2 year Spark Anniversary

Sunday, January 24, 2010

Today is my 2 year Spark Anniversary, and I am not doing the best right now. I haven't had a good appetite lately and I am experiencing some pain due to a prescription I am taking to prevent breast cancer reoccurrence. I had chemo for my 3rd bout with breast cancer over 10 months ago, but some of the side effects are still lingering. I am trying to adapt to life after beating breast cancer and having 9 surgeries (12 combined) My body has handled it as best as it can. When I joined Spark People 2 years ago today, I remember life was free and easy. I had seemed to beat breast cancer 2 times and I was enjoying a full life. That being in winter, I remember some of my first posts about sledding with my son that year. I remember working hard to earn my spark points and develop healthier habits. In August of o8 I found a lump under my arm, the cancer had returned. Well the good news is, it looks like the rigorous chemo and meds did it for me, I am cancer-free, will be a year in March. So today on my 2nd Spark Anniversary I need to try again. I have only been able to exercise twice this whole year. I have not been consistent with diet or water consumption. I started the year off not putting myself first. This day comes with a new chance, it's not the first day of the year, just a special day for me, a day I started something that has truly changed my life. When I was very ill from chemo, SP was always there to keep me busy, to allow me to receive support, and give it too, for that helps one not feel sorry for themselves. Today I need to try to get back into it slowly. I need to write down a nutritional plan for myself, drink more water, exercise, 10 minutes a day to start. I got through much of the Spark book the other night when I took my son to the ER. He's doing okay now, but I learned from that whole experience, we found out my son had to much caffeine and that can be dangerous. And as I was sitting there, I learned as I read from that incredible book. SP has a whole new beginning for me today. As I celebrate 2 years and remain ever so thankful for the friendships, love, care and the life changing knowledge that I have received here. This place is emoticon emoticonand makes you feel like emoticon I know I will do it again. I just need to get my mind set on this and it will happen. All my Spark Friends will be there right beside me too. We are all in this together. We are an amazing group of people, we are Spark People! So here again I start today, working towards a better me. I thank Spark People and Chris Downie for being positive influences in my life. I look forward to being here another 2 years , making me a happier and healthier person! emoticonInga emoticon

This is me on 3-3-09. I am happy to say I am getting better everyday! I thought I looked like a pink-soldier in this picture taken by my very sweet nurse Geri. I finally got brave enough to share this with my spark friends. My hair is growing slowly, but it's growing, that's great news! emoticonInga emoticon

New Year, New Me, and a New Spark Name!

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Goodbye CHI-TOWNGIRL, I have changed my name to PINK-SOLDIER. With the beginning of the new year I have thought about my purpose in life. As a 3 time breast cancer survivor I hope to share the message of HOPE that you can win this BATTLE. I fought the war and came out a champion. I am living a healthy life after cancer, believing it is gone for good. Spark People is helping me to live healthy after breast cancer, and as a spark person I hope to support and care for those who may be going though what I went through, surgeries, treatments, helping them to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I will always fight against breast cancer, until a cure is found. I will always be a warrior in the fight against this disease, for myself and others, I am a PINK-SOLDIER. emoticonInga emoticon

Thank you for sharing your hope and courage!

I love your new name. My mother was a cancer survivor (not breast, but Cervical) for 33 years, then after a broken hip, cancer went into her liver and she did not survive that one...so I congratulate you on your beating breast cancer 3 times and I am with you all the way. I am a great cancer supporter!

I also was baffled by your name at first...then was glad to see it was YOU.

Keep on Sparkin'

Need a little Jump Start

Sunday, December 27, 2009

With the new year coming I need a jump start. I have not exercised this month due to recovering from a minor surgery, lymphedema swelling issues and the business of the season. I am glad the new year is right around the corner. I am working on new plans and goals for myself . I have an exercise bike, juicer, small weights, some exercise/yoga/pilates DVD's, Spark People...all the tools I need to get back on track, firm up the flab and start the new year off right. I also hope to eat better, healthier breakfasts, more vegetables, whatever it takes to feel better through fuelling my body. From the beginning of me rededicating myself to health in 2010, I will take things slow, proceeding gradually so not to injure myself, eventually graduating to health club workouts! emoticon emoticon This is a promise I make to myself, so by the time I reach my 46th Birthday in february, I will be feeling pretty good and used to all my healthy habits that make my life so much better. emoticonInga

Good luck with your exercise goals. Sounds like you're well prepared.
Let me know how it goes with the juicer.
I've been dreaming of getting one as a gift one day - - - - the family will buy me one for a birthday present maybe this year or the next.
Some people like them, others don't.
Which kind do you think is the best juicer?

HUGS!!! and I hope you will be fully recovered before the end of January.
