Puzzles are fun!

Monday, April 23, 2012

Got some jigsaw puzzles from freecycle.com and Dd is really making headway in one of hem,, she has it upside down and I am not wired to do things like that,, Will wait until she spins it around upright!!

I had a very large green salad for lunch after work today,, leftover chicken tonight,, I love drinking water and feel glad that it is so easy for me to drink at least two gallons a day,,, love the stuff!!

Love doing puzzles also. If I get bored doing them up right, then I just move around the table for a change of pace. Sometimes a different angle works for me. I love my water too!!!

I have a Brita Pitcher in the fridge and love the water but would much prefer a new large refrigerator with filtered ice water instead.

I like zigsaw puzzles too and also am with Free Cycle.com.

I enjoy puzzles as well. I also like crosswords and sodukos. Find doing one takes my mind off of other things - actually destresses me!

I've never had a problem getting my water in either - it is my main drink. Other than a couple of coffees in the morning it is about all I drink.

Rip Van ME!

Sunday, April 22, 2012

I guess if you need something, it comes to you: DD and I were on to road all day yesterday, running errands, visiting, etc. When I finally sat in to chair, it was six o'clock. I do not remember anything after that until nine thirty when DD woke me up to go to bed! I did, and slept until five thirty this morning!
I feel better than a few days ago, not as achy or dragged down, but holy wah! I have lots to do today before heading back to work tomorrow, so I did need that rest..
Wonder if I will grow a beard and sleep through a day next time????? emoticon

Ahhh, blissful sleep at last!

Saturday, April 21, 2012

My exciting days in this life are basically over, (and I DID have some great ones!!) but I do get thrilled about the simple pleasures in life.
Like calm, restful sleep, as long as I want to lie there.

This cannot be fully appreciated unless you know that normally, I go to bed at 7 or 8 at night, rise at 4 Am. for work, five days a week, BUT I am up every 45 minutes all night to use the rest room,, I am on many meds and two of them cause this, plus the fact that I already have overactive bladder,,I know, TMI,, but last night I slept in the chair for a couple hours, then DD shouted for me to get up,,
off I go to bed, fall asleep in seconds, only woke up four times to do my thing down the hall!
The best part is, I can sleep as long as I want to sleep since I do not work weekends.

I finally got up at a very late 6:30a...
I would wake up, lie there just smiling, dozing, waking up, enjoying this luxury like a fine wine or decadent chocolate, or a wonderful view of scenery.

It is a good thing I do this, because I cannot afford the wine, the candy or the trip to that scene!! LOL!
I got dressed, walked out to the street to get my mail and enjoyed the fact that the birds were flying around my head, singing just for me to hear, since nobody else is up yet.
I am sitting here thinking about a juicy apple that is sitting in that basket on my table, waiting for me, for breakfast!!

I would love to have more money to be worry-free of things like that, but I am now content to just appreciate what is put before me, why it is there and how much I rely on these simple things every day just for a smile or distraction.

How many times a week do you appreciate paved roads or streetlights or the cushioned seats in your vehicle??What if they were wooden or metal only??

How about nail files or stockings or your watch or hairbrush?

Does life send you into a tizzy when you have no washer/dryer/fridge/or a backed up sewer, no running water or power,,even for an hour or two???

I am easy to please and these are the things I think about when I whine or complain about my health challenges or life situations..
Shame on me for not realizing this earlier in life, but oh well, I appreciate it now..

Yes, every time someone says 'Oh, I'd love to live back in the (whatever) era!' I think 'Not me - I like running water, and central heating, and electricity, and so on and so forth...' As long as I can go to the store, I don't have to spend my life being a hunter - gatherer, lol...

I agree- we have to appreciate the things in life that are free. My tme of peace is sitting in the sun in my backyard - listening to the birds and smelling the flowers in the garden.

My garden is all perennials so I don`t have to buy/plant them each year - just wait for them to grow and blossom to enjoy them!

Rain

Friday, April 20, 2012

No, our pool exploded in February during a big blizzard, splitting the liner, the while side of the stainless steel wall tore up, letting thousands of gallons of water whooshing across my back yard, against my back fence and into the neighbors yard, to freeze like a big rink. NO more pool, but I DO have to tear it down and scrap what I can, sell the parts.. a LOT of work to do.. If ti was just a small pool, with a flat bottom, no problem,, it has a 7 1/2 foot deep end, so I have to get the cover off, tear the whole pool apart, clips, decking, walls, liner, cover, , insulation.. then fill in the big hole from the deep end,,

got to find somebody to break it down and haul it to the front or away. then sell all the accessories...

Have some people interested in the pump, scrap, filter... crossing my fingers, eyes, legs,etc..

If summer was not so blasted hot and humid here, I'd be ready, too! I am personally enjoying the cooler and moderate temperatures while they last! I'm sure in your neck of the woods it's a lot cooler and more enjoyable. Are you wanting a new pool?

What is happening with your pool? It will have to warm up a bit before I will get anxious to be in the pool. I am sure DD will be opening it withing the next couple of weeks.

I am anxious for summer too, But I would love to be by the pool, but blink, and my body would be healthier and look great in a bathing suit.
