Snow/rain/snow/sleet, now rain again,, that is all just this morning.. no shoveling it for me,, working extra hours thsi week and will not shovel snow.. or rain,, slurpee mix..
to answer Pat, Gas prices here are now $3.84/gal for unleaded. I hope they go down by summertime,, but I am excited about possibly getting a garden again..
the pool is 24 foot round and 7 1'2 feet deep, so I will need to order a lot of fill dirt,, I had the guys put the dirt around the edges of my fences when they installed the pool, so now I have to pay for black dirt to refill that big hole. Maybe now I can get my chainsaw out and cut that huge maple tree down after the pool is gone.

Okay, time to warp speed this season to get on to spring. The sunless, warmthless, wet, unable-to-go-outdoors in less than sixty five-pounds-of-clothes days are really not fun anymore...
when 30 degrees starts to look like a beach day, it is time to fast-forward the weather...
In Michigan, when the temps gets up to 45, we put the tops down on our convertibles, wear sandals, shorts and short sleeves!! I am NOT kidding!! In Michigan, teh temps waver back and forth between -14 and 32 degreesF!! In one day!!
When I am able to retire, I will be the first person to stand in front of that proverbial slingshot to Florida!!!!!
If you do not believe me, you can ask my DD in sparks, in my car trunk, I carry a bag with my swimsuit, beach towel, ice scraper, car lock de-icer, and sunscreen ALL YEAR ROUND!

Got home from work, DD and I went to post office to drop off a package of mine to be shipped, then on to the credit union to make a deposit to my CD and make a withdrawal for $$, then checked my income tax deposit,,no-go,, it will be two weeks tomorrow that I had them done..
pulled out of that parking lot to pull into my car dealer lot to go through their free car wash.. it is the same as a regular one, except it is about half as long,, get the salt, grime and crud off the undercarriage and sides.. ,, then on to the grocery store to find phonecard that matches a deal we got in the mail.. nothing at grocery store, on to big lots, no go there either, on to staples to buy 50 dvd-rw's to transfer tapes to discs before our garage sale,, all videotapes are going in the sale, so Dd will be busy until then,, while in staples we tried out all of their chairs, but they will not be on sale for a couple weeks,, it so happens that I purchased two staples gift cards online from my MyPoints site,, I get 1200 bonus points for buying them there, then I put the purchase on my MyPoints visa so I get another 150 points, then when I use the cards on merchandise, I will get staples rewards to use on future purchases!!
I had enough staples rewards funds today to get a 35 pack of dvd-rw free!! They are $25 each!!
The chairs will be half price by the time I get the gift cards in the mail, so I will get the chair too, use my gift cards, then get staples reward points for THEIR future purchases!!!
Our old office chair literally fell apart while DD was sitting in it,, fell forward and sent her flying!! It was old, had lots of butts sitting in it over the years,, got it cheap...
we did not get the phone card there, so onward next door to kmart!! Alas!!! I found the card,,, the promo is for 365 days, 800 minutes, plus 200 bonus minutes, plus the purchase doubles any and all points put on that phone for the life of the phone!!
stopped at aldi to get their bargains for veggie nirvana: avocados for $.49 each, broccoli crowns for $.88!!
we are back home doing odds and ends, up and down those basement stairs, lots of cardio!!!

Still bitter cold and windy,, just a busy cleaning-indoor day here,, talked via Skype last evening to friend in upper MIchigan that we will be visiting in August,, she is excited to see us son, less than six months!! Yea...
did not sleep last night, will be an early night tonight,, back to the grind tomorrow.. so glad I am able to work,,, but if retirement was around the corner, I would be thrilled,,

Thanks to IOWARHINO for reminding me that all of this snow is pretty!! I had forgotten as I slid down the road, drove around a car and police a block from my home, a car that had done a 360 and ended up facing the road, across a big ditch and IN the neighbor's yard near their living room!
How could I forget the glorious beauty of those precious flakes as I scraped the two layers of ice and snow off my car at work just to get IN the car to start it up? I guess I need those reminders as I look out my kitchen window and see that my swimming pool has exploded from the weight of all the snow and ice,, it is gone forever... there is a trail across my lawn to the back fence from the thousands of gallons of water that drained out of the shallow part of the pool, the water that thawed earlier, but is not gone,, the walls are caved in, line sucked into a vortex of ice and snow somewhere in the deep end.
I actually had a dream last night that this happened!! I did not go out there yet, it is not very light outside, but I am pretty sure the liner split too!! It is only four years old..
I will now have to put an ad in the paper and see if I can part the pool out, then order fill dirt, then black dirt, then I will plant either grass or a garden.
There is never a week without a trauma here,, thought I would have a relaxing day off,, haha!!! Now to get estimates,,
The pool was put in in 1989, , we replaced the liner four years ago,, the life of a liner is about 4-10 years, so I do not feel bad, but I was hoping to sell the liner,, it is not cheap..
I will also have to dismantle my deck,, it has an upper deck to the pool and ladder..
DD and I at least have c/a in our house, so that is a plus. I am unable to lift all of the heavy things required to prepare the pool every spring and autumn, so she would have had to do the brunt of the heavy stuff.. God, in his infinite wisdom, has shown me a few more beautiful lakes near us, we have lots of water near us, and now I can utilize them.. just hafta drive to them, bite the bullet and storm the beaches like an albino beluga!! Really,,
looks like the garage sale is not the only work on my summer agenda besides my job,,,
