Another hard day at work,, I actually showed up an hour early,, forgot they changed my schedule yet again.. will be glad when tomorrow is over.. fibro is gripping me again in this weather. We had fog and melting snow,, north of here, about 50 miles, they got 5 inches of snow... only in Michigan..

My workplace had a re-grand opening as a business today since they totally gutted the building, made it a completely different workplace,, the whole city was there: radio stations, our local WNEM-tv television station, half the other businesses in the area too.. My boss is into lots of charities and civic foundations, so we were all getting our pictures taken. SHe made many donations and it was a great ribbon-cutting ceremony. One other woman and I were recognized and honored for being the original employees at the business even before this person was the boss!!
We were both surprised, we got bouquets, beautiful flowers.. a nice breakfast and I got paid to sit there and enjoy actually being recognized for my hard work.
She dedicated the business to her late mom, who encouraged her to start working in this business in 1972..

I cannot believe I had a wonderful day at work, barely did any work, but was a part of this new part of my boss and daughter's business. I also got to see a lot of people I have not worked with for about twenty ears,, a good day..

LINDA, I am so happy that you were given the recognition you obviously deserve, You never say what kind of business you are working in, I guess it must be a secret. I felkt really good reading your blog, very few of your blogs talk about having a really nice day.Usually you have lots of hard work or doing things around your home, it was a treat to hear about your very good day. If you know about this saint, you know why we celebrate this day,, if not go ahead and look it up! Do not fear:nobody will call you a smarty-pants!
I am relieved that I have finished filing my taxes,, two more weeks and I should get my refund.. no energy refunds from teh thousands of dollars I spent on my home.. the only way the government will give you any money for that is if you DO NOT OWE TheM ANY TAXES!!!!!!

I have never received a penny of $$ form them because I work full time, pay my bills, pay my taxes, try to bring my energy consumption up to date,, only poor people can get this rebate, or teh ones who owe $$ to the government. I just spent over $40,000 in energy home improvements in less than five years and am now eating it. Yet another propaganda tool to get people to spend on durable goods to keep the dough flowing...
lesson learned.. I have worked for 49 years... 42 of them paying in to MEdicare and Social Security.. cannot collect on MEdicare till my 66th BD!! 7 more yars..

woman near me never worked a day in her life, hubby either, she got her andlord to fix up her apartment, so guess who gets teh money?? She gets Medicaid(my social security), SSI, food stamps(my taxes), subsidized housing(my tax dollars yet again) and her taxi and dial-a-ride $$ reimbursed when she goes to the doctor(My tax dollars again),,
she got hundreds of $$ in rebates..

Was this woman you speak of born disabled or disabled after age 18? If disabled they ahve that right. If committing fraud no way! If a lazy bum no way. single digit temps

Okay, so since last September we have been very happy that this winter was very mild, snow and temperature. Well, the rubber meets the road now. We had a blizzard and the temps dropped 29 degrees in 8 hours. I cannot complain about this yet because it is still a very strange and mild winter for this area which is usually subzero for months with feet of snow instead of none!
I am very glad I am taking that virtual trip to Bali....

Take advantage of that cold and freeze some bags of berries out on your patio and meat as well. I did that a while back. thawed my turkey outside on the deck for 3 days out of the freezer. :-) Report Inappropriate Comment
