MRI results

I am going to live... no cancer, no tumors of any kind, but I do have three bulging discs. I knew I had osteoarthritis, but this disc thing was unexpected. It is due to years of hard, physical labor at my jobs and home.
I can add hours to my work schedule as I wish, but the ten pound lifting restriction is forever. If I do not, the discs are ready to rupture. It explains the pain when I do too much along with the fibromyalgia and arthritis... no wonder I cannot stretch like I used to....

Went to credit union to start a CD. THey have this contest running that every time you deposit $25 or more, you are put into drawings for big cash prizes,, they pay the same amount as savings account, but the grand prizes are $10,000.. $100 and $50 prizes every month at OUR Cu, $1,000 and $500 drawings every month in the league(all of the local CU's) and next year three grand prizes of $10,000each.. I deposit all the time anyway, might as well try to get lucky from it..

Hi there, I lifted a very heavy dresser years ago and ruptured three discs in my back. I was told not to bother with second opinion we will do surgery tomorrow. He did, pain was less but I had a numb left leg for almost 8 years. That is what the Acupuncturist was able to help me with just this year.
It has been a long haul but I find if I have to lean and lift I really hurt even now. I had a miserable time with our refrigerator needing to just bend the back a little and reach for something like a bottle of juice or something heavy and it really was a problem. We bought a refrigerator with a bottom freezer and so I can deal with the refrigerator so much better now. Freezer is way down and bending way over never bothers me so that was a solution for me.
I cannot take pain meds so I use ice-which I do not like and I use a TENS unit when it plays up. It is still doing better now.
I am sorry for your pain LINDA, Take care

I'm glad all is well. The restrictions are a bummer but at least now you can breathe easy.

Tee Hee, you sound like me last year. I just couldn't wait to go with the kids to Orlando. So you are going to your favoritest resort on the lake? Saturday night I made funnel cakes with blackberry toping for dessert. I was so thankful for all the blackberry picking we had done last August.. I was thinking about you, and your last berry picking experience. Wishing you much better luck this year!!

How do you get your berries home, to you take a special cooler for them emoticon

199 more days!!! Yippee!!! I am sure you will be like me, the first night (and every night, that I wasn't asleep before my head hit the pillow) I just gave thanks to have the kids with us, safely tucked into their beds, in the next rooms..

Turkey Day!

Sunday, February 05, 2012

This weekend was about purging more boxes and tubs of stuff from the basement, but today I am making a turkey dinner for us,, and to use the rest of the week in various dishes,, T-sandwiches on whole grain, sugar free bread, turkey, rice broccoli casserole,, turkey on greens salad,, real turkey salad , like tuna salad,, on toast.

Still not snow, possibly getting a dusting on Tuesday,, still cold out though.. yesterday I baked two types of cookies, carrot bread, orange-cranberry bread, cinnamon muffins(DD favorite)..

Batch cooking helps us to eat healthier, not feeling like cooking during the week, so freezing portioned plates for us with leftovers keeps us on track.

It all sounds YUMMY! I do that once in awhile too! Really makes things easier during the week by making dinner a no brainer.

I always thought batch cooking sounded wonderful. But since I'm home everyday, it's almost easier for me to cook each day.

It's odd that is the place I never manage to get completed and it is n ot for the want of trying. Everything disappears down there to make room for upstairs but despite having a basement door. I can never part with anything. Some day it might be of use to me.
I think i become a hoarder as I descend the stairs. HUGS LINDA, Pat in Maine.
