warm spell

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

today it is supposed to get a high temp of 54 degrees: the last day of January.. crazy,, my car, Vinny, will not even mind being parked on the driveway for awhile..
got to go back to parents house to get that darned refrigerator out of the basement,, it is huge, old, heavy,, it is a 13 block basement, then upstairs it has to turn, go over the threshold, then onto the back porch, then turn again, then down five steps,, then to the truck,, we really needed more help last night,, we were huffing and puffing, panting and wheezing to get that freezer up the same route and it is much smaller and lighter!!
Calgon take me away,, DD and I are stiff as boards this morning,,,

all the snow we got yesterday is slowly melting,, still some covering the ground,,, I am glad that it is not cold,, now we are supposed to get rain for a couple days.. Only in Michigan..

I had to drive to Clarkston for a meeting at 1:00 and the expressway was awful! I got to Birch Run and there wasn't any snow.

I too am glad you got home ok in the rough conditions! Sounds like a good night for soup, a blanket, and a good book/movie. Give Vinny a sympathetic pat for me.

No one wants to sleep outdoors in the winter. I think my engine would be sluggish too. I'm glad you made it home in time and safely.

Hoping great-niece and great-nephew are coming today to parental house to take a refrigerator out of their basement,, it is old, it is sucking energy like a bat at midnight.. I also asked them if they would take the upright freezer upstairs and to the garage,, going in the sale.. we have to defrost it when it warms up above freezing temps..

Making a dent..

Saturday, January 28, 2012

DD and I made the trip to the basement yesterday, a daunting task of sorting through years of stuff.. for the garage sale.. Her skin problems only allow us to stay down there, due to damp and some mildew,, for about a couple hours before she starts getting pain and itching ,, SHe hauled two huge trash bags of junk to the garage, we sorted through a lot of Christmas wrapping paper and assorted things like boxes, gift bags, etc,, old clothing to be tossed, filled yet another big plastic bin with some more of my old books.. we have a lot more to do, it looks very messy, but we know how much we accomplished, hauling boxes, etc..
IT felt good to do it and make some headway towards a better organized home..

STILL NO PEPPER SHAKER THOUGH!!!!!!
