Anybody knows me well, knows that I was raised in an abusive home(mother) and searched elsewhere in my pool of females to get a nice mom figure..... today I am shopping for vitamins and an elderly lady on an amigo was sitting, looking lost and confused. She was trying to find a certain supplement and could not see far enough down the shelves to get her products. I asked her if I could help her and she smiled, SMILED at me and thanked me and said I was so kind and sweet to offer to help an old strange, lady. I could have cried. My mother would have rammed me in the legs and told me to get out of the way and then demand that somebody help her to find the product since she could not see it or reach it!! She then would have screamed and swore for all to hear and then cursed them all for being useless.
This lady was so thankful that Meijer's held a charged "buggy" as she called it, for her every Friday when her daughter took her here to shop. A few minutes later I passed an aisle and heard a jewellery rack jiggle: this lady had bumped it with the wheel of her "buggy" and her daughter was actually YELLING, yes, yelling at her to stop, back up, turn, move right, no right, stop, etc,, the lady was almost crying,, so I came around and asked if I could help again. The old lady looked up at me embarrassed and her daughter just stood there(daughter about in her late 60's) and I turned the basket of the amigo the other way and asked older lady to press power button just a teensy and she got away from the rack. She thanked me again and I told her that the rack was way too close in the aisle, she was not at fault!!
Her daughter had no patience with a quiet , polite lady and I feel guilty when my mom swears across a room and I tell her to keep quiet!
I would love to switch places for one day with her!!!
In fact, my mother would swear at both these ladies!!!!!!! Some people are completely clueless of the blessings they have.
