Two more weeks!

Friday, December 09, 2011

Two weeks from tomorrow is Christmas eve, the celebration of the birth of Our Savior. How the time flies, seems like he was just born and such a small baby... remember saying that about your own children?

Every year I pull out a frame that has pictures of our daughter with Santa at age 1,2,3 &4. It is bittersweet to see her in her Christmas finery as a baby and small child and realize that she is now a grown woman and an ER doctor. Time does fly but God and love are constants in our lives.

getting colder

Thursday, December 08, 2011

It is finally becoming much colder this week:the melted snow on teh pool cover is now frozen halfway through. NO more pumping the water off that cover now until next year..
I went to get my hot stone massage again, scheduled another for next week too! I love the nice feeling of getting rid of my lower back pain..
Once I get back to working full shifts, I will not be able to get them anymore.. so taking advantage..

I really hate the effect that cold weather has on me. If I didn't love my daughter more than 4 months of aggravation and higher pain levels, I would move!

I am so with you AJQUILTER, I feel like I have lost my insulation.
In fact today I saw the acupunturist to try to help me stay warmer in winter. I am having Thyroid tests tomorrow too.
Those HOT stone massages sound great. I use a hot rice bag on my aching lower back and then when I go to bed I snuggle with my rice bag.
MY DH wears an Apnea mask so I have not been able to rely on him for a while now. It's OK we can still snuggle during the day/ HUGS LINDA.

Will you be able to have the shorter hours over the holidays???I hope that works out for you.
HUGS Pat in Maine. xoxox

A hot stone massage sounds delightful! It is finally starting to get cold here, and I am
not ready for it. Since I lost 45 lbs, I feel the cold a lot more.

Somewhat better..

Wednesday, December 07, 2011

Day three of work return and at the minimum, my groin muscles are not screaming at sonic level, but my back is not enjoying the being on my feet for four hours.
My boss just called and asked me what hours I would like to work next week,, I told her the same,, she then asked about the following week,,
Being the masochist that I am, I told her six hours a day for week three.. I need the money too badly to NOT work more,, three and a half months without pay is a struggle.
I am blessed that two of my friends and I have decided to stop exchanging Christmas gifts and just enjoy each other's company at a lunch or just visit. Mom wants nothing and cannot remember if she gets anything,, both sisters do not exchange gifts anymore, so that leaves DD and I and I still send my younger sister a gift card.

With over one quarter of my annual income gone, I have learned even more ways to tighten the purse string. God had also blessed us with only one snowfall so far, no sub-zero temps for November and so far this month..

We all are receiving challenges and it is everyone's job to help another person in need and pray for those who are the hardest to pray for.. I am going to work on this task...

Who beat me up when I was asleep?

Tuesday, December 06, 2011

It is now day two of return to work. I cannot BELIEVE how sore I am! Remember that first canoe trip you took, paddling down the river for 25 miles? It was a beautiful day, rushing water, nature, sun, ahhh.. BAM!
Bambambambambambambam!!!! You just woke up the next day, and are afraid to look around for fear the intruders that beat you senseless in the night, could still be there loitering near your bed!!!!!!

When I left work yesterday, I went to the store for an hour, then pharmacy for a few minutes, then home to do five loads of laundry, up and down stairs, dishes, dinner.
I am still looking for the baseball bat that HAS to be hidden somewhere, after those darned intruders ran from the house!! I am in a world of hurt after, again, only four hours and nine minutes of work!
Today is vicodin day.. no laundry, cleaning, nothing,, just stretching,,, emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Oh, honey, I know exactly what you are talking about. We pay a price for everything we do and for things beyond our control - like weather changes. My saying about these vicodin days is, "If I find the driver of that semi who ran over me and left me to die, he is in BIG trouble!" Feel better.

Holy old body, Batman!!!!!!!!!!

Monday, December 05, 2011

My first day back to work after exactly three months not being able to do anything... I cannot believe how sore my hips and legs are!! I only worked a half shift and I was watching the clock after two hours!!! Whew! This old body is feeling like the droopy clock in the famous painting!! You know which one.. Dali...
I stopped at Aldi's to get my Christmas supplies for cooking and baking, slid into Kroger's to pick up a Rx.. home to put it all away.. Now doing a few loads of laundry and balancing moms checkbook.

How can a person get so exhausted from a very easy morning of work, nothing near what I used to do.. half the work, actually...

All I need is a pair of suspenders and a housecoat:that is how I fell.. gone are the days of teddy's, bikini's, motorcycles, snowmobiles, swimming the Great Lakes and hiking.. for hours at a time!!
I think my mother could outrun me today, and she uses a walker and is 85 years old!!!!

It will take time but you will get there. I had to ease back into work after I broke my ankle. Like you, I was exhausted after only a couple hours. After I went back to work, it took me a couple weeks to be able to work a full 8 hours again.

Like at said it will get better. practice, practice, practice..

Are youe ating the healthiest of foods? Watching your portion and exercising? It's kinda like training for a amrathon, huh? I'm sorry you are feeling msierable. Imagine how it would feel if you did an 8 hr. dday. I'd suggest soaking in a hot tub.

LINDA, it will get better day by day. You are probably using different muscles at work than you do at home.
I am sure it will be better soon, I hope so. HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
