Taking the time to notice another person's day, their mood.... maybe today I can do one thing to help or change somebody's mood or day to be better. I will try to be more aware and share something, whether it be time or talent, to help another person.. to be aware that I can make a difference in another person for better..

Linda, that is definitely a positive part of spark. I am feeling so much more positive posting on peoples message boards these days. I like to encourage people but I do not want lots of friends to follow. I have the perfect number and when they want to friend me I thank them but I take my time in friending them. Some of them still correspond and I love it that way. I just like talking and helping people who have situations I have been able to overcome and I am happy to share the positive outcomes for encouragement. I am seeing something this winter that I did not see last winter: I do not feel so depressed. Maybe it is the fact that we just got snow one day before December, maybe because I am not exhausted from working,, or the fact that mom is now in assisted living, parents home is finally being properly maintained. NOt sure, but am seeing that it is only four or five months of bitter,freezing cold left.

Went to workplace yesterday, discussed my work schedule for returning next week. I only work four hours a day, one day four and a half. A lot of things have changed since I left for surgery, so I was anxious about it, but it turns out that I do not have to be in as early as I thought. I get to sleep in until 4 a.m.!!


I had a wonderful massage by a senior student, have scheduled another for next Thursday after work! The massage school has a policy of giving you a free massage after you buy 6, so since I got $5 off mine yesterday, the next one will be $20 off! A 90 minute hot stone massage for $10!

Lucky you! about that massage. I could sure use one and ahve been emailing and calling massage schools. No responses as of yet. Today I am having another hot stone massage return to work after three months unpaid time off for surgery. It is so easy to schedule one when you are not working. They are students and do a fantastic job, PLUS I have a coupon for $5 off their extremely reasonable rate of $30.00 for a 90 minute hot stone massage with reflexology if I choose, which I always do! $25 for a wonderful, healing treatment that costs over $200 down the street at a salon, done by someone who graduated from this school a few months ago, and did my value massage a few times while here!

I was very hesitant to spend $$ on this frivolity, but it is a great treatment for my fibromyalgia, arthritis, asthma, high blood pressure, so I have had a couple in the past three months.. Most of their clients get one every week or every other week! Oh, to be wealthy enough to be retired or just, well, wealthy! I do not drink (with the exception of the occasional glass of wine), gamble, or smoke anything, so I feel this is my healthy vice.

Since the temps are in the mid 20's now, I dread stepping my toe out the door, but I need to run more errands, get with moms snowplow guy to set up a schedule, and buy make-up stamps for some old stamps of mom's before the new year. The 45 cent stamp begins next month. I just bought twenty sheets of forever stamps to beat the new price..

LINDA, I am so glad you have found a therapy that helps. It's great that you feel so much better after it nad being able to get it at an affordable price is even better. Oh wow! I want one of those so bad. I can sure use a hot stone massage. && don't forget to drink more water. I called the local Cosmotology or massage school in Wilsonvill. Asked if they have a student clinic where they do massages for grading and was given a nmber. I called left a message and no one returned the call. Go figure... Report Inappropriate Comment

as a massage therapist, i am so happy to hear you enjoying the benefits of this!!! with the fibro, it's a great thing especially!!! one way to look at it though, it's not frivolous to take something for yourself, for your health!! it's essential for muscle recovery, and mental state of mind....i'm glad you found a place that is reasonable (my center doesn't charge extra for stone massage, it's makes no sense in my mind).....take care of yourself, enjoy your time!!! First snowfall..

Supposed to get 4-6 inches from last night until this morning, another inch of the stuff today!
DD was still pumping rainwater off the pool cover Monday evening, it was that warm, now BAM!! IT is a blizzard! We were out of town yesterday visiting my aunt in a nursing home,, 55 mph winds, rain, then sleet. Now this lovely stuff! Here we go winter of 2011-2012!

We will be homebound today, and I am so grateful I do not have to go back to work until next week! I am having problems with VERY swollen legs and ankles for some reason. The ankles were very bad last night:I elevated them, and now I just took some lasix,,, it is working!! THe ankles look much better.. Looks like only some treadmill and some exercises I saw on the Ellen show yesterday, I can do some of them even without using my hand.

I have that swollen-ankles problem too sometimes. They suggested I lay on the floor with my legs at a 90 degree angle up along the wall. Nuisance, but - it works surprisingly well! Report Inappropriate Comment

Up and at 'em at 3:20 a.m. Trying to get prepared for work return next Monday.. I forced myself to stay up and do something productive. I have many plans for today and will have to stay awake to do them. The state of Michigan frowns on sleep-drivers.
