WOW!

Saturday, November 26, 2011

I knew going into this trip that there would be lots of loud kids running around this huge home. Patsy has a Christmas cookie baking day every year with the whole family, it begins at 10 AM.,, they stay all day into the evening, eating lunch and dinner there. I got there at 11 Am.
April was just headed into the bedroom to nurse Caliana when I walked in the door, so I headed downstairs to watch the cookie baking and decorating by all. The men were rolling out the dough, everybody was using the cookie cutters, frosting and sprinkles on three tables.

When Caliana woke up, she was handed to me immediately after diaper changing! She is four months old, but her doc says she is at a six month level. She is very tiny, but never cried once the whole six hours I was there!! She laughed and giggled, bounced on me, snuggled, I loved it! Since they live in Chicago, April and Omar have not brought Caliana here to Pat and Dan's house in Michigan yet, so all the noise, the kids, two dogs, smells , sounds, etc were probably very tiring to her, but she never fussed once!
I also got to see Pat's son and daughter-in-law who live out of state too. He is an FBI agent, and she works for a major European airline in the corporate offices, so we never see either of them much.

patsy and I have been best friends for 53 years, so I am part of the family, so it was nice to sit back and see who grew up, what everybody is doing and HOLD THAT BABY!! April loved the bag of gifts I brought: all toys, of course!! She sanitized everything(first baby,LOL) and was playing with one of the toys with the baby right away.

I got home after dark, was completely exhausted , but loved the day!! Today is putting the Christmas tree up and decorating it,, getting my Christmas card stuff in order to do those this weekend.

Off to see the baby!

Friday, November 25, 2011

I am taking a leap and driving about a 45 minute ride to see my best friend's granddaughter today, black friday,,even better:I am going to stop at a store to see if there is anything else I want to put in her gift bag! I have never been to babies r us,, may give it a shot..

We had a nice peaceful thanksgiving day. We played a board game, watched part of a parade, ate dinner. Later on in the evening, I asked DD if she wanted to take a walk. We did the double circuit and took in about a mile, but it was crisp, clear and quiet n the darkness, strolling along.
Our food was prepared with lowfat, sodium ingredients. This year is probably the least I have ever eaten at this meal,, and felt great!
I am hoping it was not my Last Supper after diving into the shopping frenzy today,,

Is anybody else having to sign in to each task they perform? I sign in on Sparks, then have to sign in for recipes, anybody's blog or sparkpage comments,to give or read goodies.. also, there are no notes with an of my goodies,, like ALL of my goodies ever given to me,, all gone.. what the heck??

We had a little snow a few days ago but we generally don't get much until late in December or sometime in January.

Hope you have a great long weekend and maybe you'll get snow on a day when you have no where to be.

Not I about the Spark stuff. Ask K how to fix it. she might know.

I'm really surprised you haven't ahd a heavy snowfall as of yet. You said it's usually snowing by Halloween.

Have a lovely day today.

The Spark sight is notorious for that kind of thing. Sometimes I would get caught in a loop where I had to sign in, go to the page where I wanted to do my task, where I was required to sign in to do my task. Ad Nauseum. I bought Norton and assigned it the task of managing all my sign-ins and haven't had to sign in very often. Usually only when I change computers! My Norton subscription ran out and I got a free doenload from AVAST and it seems to be managing the problem OK. Have someone heck out your virus software. Maybe it is capable of managing your sign-ins too.

Winter has not yet begun. Your parent's will be grateful for their new furnace by-and-by!

HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION!

plans

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Friend Patsy called me last evening to invite me to her home Friday to see her granddaughter, Caliana. Her daughter April and son-in-law, Omar, live in Chicago(the wedding I attended a few years ago at Shedd Aquarium) and will be home for the weekend, so I am on the road again on black friday for an hour trek to her home southwest of here.
It is the first time in over fifteen years I do not have to work on Thanksgiving day and the day after, so I am thrilled to be able to just NOT work....

paper cleansing

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

I bit the bullet Sunday evening and sat down with the shredder and filled four paper grocery bags . Today is recycling day(it is every other week with our trash) so I wanted to clear out all the "stuff" that has to be saved for so long, like credit card receipts, bills, tax returns, etc. When we were cleaning out moms things during the boiler installation, I brought her shredder home. I have a little 8 inch wide cheapie that expands over a wastebasket and has wide strips.. Mom's is a fine shred and I was always the one to clean and repair it when she would shove five envelopes of unopened mail in it at once or better yet, plastic credit cards that come with applications!!

So many things that can be accomplished when you are not at work 40 hours a week! DD organized all of our sheets and afghans, blankets, quilts, etc, with me so we do not have to dig through my cedar closet to find things or not know IF they are there. We revamped the linen closet too, so she can tell right where her sheets, my flannels and regular sheets are. towels are all nice and in order.

I really enjoyed time with Kathy yesterday; we did Chinese for lunch,, I skipped a drink except water, no soup or dessert, but did indulge in an egg roll. I was so full from a lunch that finished at 3:30p, that I did not even have any venison tenderloins that I had in the crockpot, so today I will reheat them and enjoy a leisurely dinner with no plans except to pay more bills and fill out mom paperwork, clean floors.
Temperature dropped again to 30 degreesF,, very hard frost last night again,,
we did have snow last week, but nothing stuck,, got my mukluks out and ready to go!
