so many calls, so little time..

Monday, August 29, 2011

Sometimes life is full of busy things, things that catch up to me.. called HVAC guy to set appointment for post-surgery furnace/a/c checkup for warranty, cancelled rheumatologist appointment for 9/12:no $$ to pay for it; called hospital about financing whole procedure, called handyman Joe to get a battery out of my sink drain trap.. (another story)..
Tomorrow is my family doc appt. to clear me for surgery.. get some med clarifications since I have dropped most of my most expensive meds.
Boss informed us today that we are starting work one hour earlier tomorrow, so I will be rising again at 3 A.M. Glad I am finished at 11.. so much paperwork to do for hospital and docs, bills, etc.

Still unpacking vacation things, mostly non perishable foods that I did not use, plastic bags,etc... Trying to coordinate deliveries and services for at least a day AFTER my surgery.. Table should be delivered some time next week... The last link to my new kitchen.. now everything will be brand new except the sink and two year old window.
Decided not to do an canning this year, or put up any preserves.. I was going to make huckleberry preserves, but I bought some cheap on vacation, so will just eat the berries now, fresh for the vitamins...

Glad ex hub will help close pool with DD... a big relief..

Be sure to check with the financial department or social services department at the hospital because there may be money available to help you with the expenses. You seem to get more done accidentally than I do on purpose.

The big problem with vacations is the catch up you have to do.

I could not work a 3am shift, my body gets messed up if I get up too early I usually go to bed at midnight. I hope you are able to be in bed early.
You are very wise to check out all of the medical stuff. I discovered that even the IRS gives out incorrect information. I did ask the hospital for a patient advocate, they have lots of ideas and they will work to help you get to the right people if you need help with financial matters.

HUGS LINDA Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Wow, you have been busy but sounds like you got a lot done and it is nice to be able to cross those things off your list, huh? I am going to a class next month to learning canning techniques...too cool.

Beautiful day here!

Sunday, August 28, 2011

Windy, high 70's, sunny.. dried towels, clothes, sheets on line, very quickly,, got shopping done aherad for week after next. Went to Aldis for some groceries and their sign stated they were only accepting cash due to Irene!!
I am not sure where their American base is, but I do not use a debit card anyway.. Lots of people left because they had NO cash on them!! Weird!!

Called furniture store yesterday to confirm shipping date of my new table to them.. Shipping date is day after my surgery, so it works out great!! No time restrictions!! Five more working days till I am off for awhile,, so much to do..

You are really forging right ahead - great organization! Re Aldi: dunno where there American hdqtrs is either, tho I think they're a Dutch company. Not that the Netherlands had anything to worry about Irene... or maybe it was the American bank they use for the US chain? A curiousity, fer sher.

I love that you dry clothes on a line. I've been doing the same. We've been having triple digit weather most of this summer. No reason to let all that heat and sunshine go to waste ;-)

table gone: lots of memories

Saturday, August 27, 2011

Ex hubs came by this morning , treated DD and I to brunch, then they loaded our big dining table on a trailer for him to take home,,, he agreed to close our pool with Kristy after Labor day weekend, as he and his wife have craft shows both weekends..
he even brought his kitchen table for us to sell in the garage sale and DD keeps the $$ from its' sale!

HE also offered to lend us his bazaar tables for our sale.. he is going to change DD oil and lube the joints.. mow our lawn,,, I never refuse his help,,
still unpacking vacation supplies, organizing my basement pantry, picked some more berries.. clotheslines full of towels,, trying to get heavy things done before next weekend..
maybe we will make enough $$ on the sale to pay for some of my surgery...

library sale

Friday, August 26, 2011

Went with DD to library book sale after work. I bought a whole big box of used books for $2!! Probably about 20 or so,, hard cover, soft and paperbacks,, Don Drysdales autobiography!! I love biographies!! Ring Lardner..etc.. it was the last day of the sale so not a lot of choices, but I am content..
visited mom, unpacked more vacation stuff,,, lots to do this weekend,, not much time before surgery, must get things hauled around, prepare to close the pool..
counting my blessings..

Thank you to all my friends!

Thursday, August 25, 2011

To those who wished me well on my upcoming surgery, I am grateful. It is not a major surgery, but my livelihood depends on it and the loss of income have me nervous,, having to pay out-of-pocket for it all, does not help. First time I wish I was on public assistance,, too rich(I work and am not pregnant, living with a boyfriend or have little kids) for help, too poor to pay for it all,,,but must get it done..Lose my job if I do not get it, no income for another eight years. but still no assistance allowed!!
Gotta love this administration!!
God will show me and HE always let's me stupidly worry and fret,, my choice of course..

I need more prayers for monetary peace, than medical ....

Oh, it's not just THIS administration, or even the last one, or the one before that. I left the US in 2000, and I was in exactly the same boat. You know what the French say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. *sigh*

You're in my prayers. I know the feeling all too well. There have been times when I wondered what we'd eat but somehow the Lord always provides. Be the best person you can be in honor of the Lord and he will reward you. Or, because he's a most wonderful father, simply love Him. All my best,
Sarah
