I know just what you mean about finding the perfect places to stargaze. If I ever go to Africa it will be for that as much as seeing the animals in the wild.

It is no fun getting older. The aches and pains come faster. But look on the bright side. If you had that 60 pounds on you that you lost, you would be far worse off.

OH No this is not the time to injure yourself. Take it easy, maybe you slept in an odd position for your long nap. It can happen that way you know.

Take care Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I missed this one.

Our friends from Grand Rapids always make lists weeks in advance and take the week before to pack. I do not have enough clothes to do that and I like to pack light these days. It must be a MICHIGAN thing to make lists and pack early.

I am so glad your trip is coming up soon. Take care. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Forgotten Blessings

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Floating around in the pool today, I started thinking of some forgotten blessings I have received.

a home
a car
lots and lots of friends
a job
fresh water to drink
food
a/c and heat
appliances
freedom to walk in any church in the U.S.!
Many stores and gas stations to buy what i need or want
a bed
a chair and sofa to sit on
a table, tv, and doors that lock!
water, electric and gas service to my home!
clean clothing and choices of what to wear
relatives that care about me
ability to stand, walk, feed and dress myself
sense of hearing, taste and smell(although diminished)

I have learned to thank God for "all my blessings, those realized and those that I have no clue about." I appreciate you writing this blog. You are one of my blessings today.

Accentuate the postive things you have and do.

No need to ever dwell on negative,

Positive thoughts lead to positive outcomes. HUGS Pat in Maine. Thanks for the reminder. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Often we forget about the things God has blessed us with! Most of the time we complain about what we don't have or we don't have the money to buy what we want. And often, we see someone that is worse off than we are and then we realize that we are blessed with what we have.
I saw a little girl on the 4th of July at a park waiting for the fireworks to start and she didn't have any arms. Her and her family were featured in last Sundays paper saying that she was fit with artificial arms and she was able to work the hand, but when the hand clamped onto her leg she no longer wanted anything to do with artificial arms. She still has them, but refuses to use them. She is only 7 years old and was born with no arms. She has a finger on each side where there would be arms.
She wants to be a cheerleader for the University of Kentucky. She practices jumping on the family trampoline.
She also has a very defined curve in her back which will be operated on soon. The Drs. will put in 2 steal rods. One on each side of her spine to help straighten her back. The rods will be lengthened as she grows.
The article says that she doesn't think anything is wrong with her. She thinks she is normal. Her mother says that she knows that God made her that way, but still doesn't know why. Maybe she will never find out, but someday hopes that she does.
emoticon emoticon Sometimes we just need to stop and smell the roses!!
