Forgotten Blessings

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Floating around in the pool today, I started thinking of some forgotten blessings I have received.

a home
a car
lots and lots of friends
a job
fresh water to drink
food
a/c and heat
appliances
freedom to walk in any church in the U.S.!
Many stores and gas stations to buy what i need or want
a bed
a chair and sofa to sit on
a table, tv, and doors that lock!
water, electric and gas service to my home!
clean clothing and choices of what to wear
relatives that care about me
ability to stand, walk, feed and dress myself
sense of hearing, taste and smell(although diminished)

I have learned to thank God for "all my blessings, those realized and those that I have no clue about." I appreciate you writing this blog. You are one of my blessings today.

Accentuate the postive things you have and do.

No need to ever dwell on negative,

Positive thoughts lead to positive outcomes. HUGS Pat in Maine. Thanks for the reminder. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Often we forget about the things God has blessed us with! Most of the time we complain about what we don't have or we don't have the money to buy what we want. And often, we see someone that is worse off than we are and then we realize that we are blessed with what we have.
I saw a little girl on the 4th of July at a park waiting for the fireworks to start and she didn't have any arms. Her and her family were featured in last Sundays paper saying that she was fit with artificial arms and she was able to work the hand, but when the hand clamped onto her leg she no longer wanted anything to do with artificial arms. She still has them, but refuses to use them. She is only 7 years old and was born with no arms. She has a finger on each side where there would be arms.
She wants to be a cheerleader for the University of Kentucky. She practices jumping on the family trampoline.
She also has a very defined curve in her back which will be operated on soon. The Drs. will put in 2 steal rods. One on each side of her spine to help straighten her back. The rods will be lengthened as she grows.
The article says that she doesn't think anything is wrong with her. She thinks she is normal. Her mother says that she knows that God made her that way, but still doesn't know why. Maybe she will never find out, but someday hopes that she does.
emoticon emoticon Sometimes we just need to stop and smell the roses!!

ah, a whole day for me!

Haircuts at nine, stopped downtown to meet a fellow Sparker, ,nice lady, Betty!!! She works in an antique store there.
Back home to swim, water plants, swim, waiting for chicken Cordon Bleu`, baked potatoes, creamed corn for dinner.
Cleaned and sanitized entire countertop area, rearranged more crocks, stored more stuff in new cabinets. So this is what it is like to have time, even one day, to do whatever you want,,
bill paying is after dinner.. arrrgggghhhhh emoticon emoticon

Death in our kitchen, condo in red maple tree..

Friday, July 08, 2011

NObody messes with me when I get angry: No more ants!! After I got trigger happy with that battery operated Raid Barrier gun, (inside and out) for some reason, two unlucky survivors came staggering out on my backsplash and out came the GIANT THUMB to seal their doom! I also killed two carpenter ants in the midst of all this,, WTH is going on? We have not been able to put anything on my new countertops for a month,,

We made a trek to the post office to mail special delivery package to Veterans Affairs for mom,, came home and found Kristy's handmade two-door bird condo, fell to the ground. We were so hot and thirsty, but I knew some birds were homeless and needed that shelter. Kristy and her dad built that house when she was just little..
Up on the ladder I went, we got the wire stripper out, cut some heavy duty clothesline used for our pool cover and got that condo back up in my huge red maple tree again!! I think I should charge rent for that thing,, my maple tree is worth thousands of dollars!!!

I would sure love to see a picture of that bird house. We ahve 2 hanging bird houses on our patio. I always ahve robert fill it with wild burd seed. On the other side of the dek is a Maple tree forest. I love them to pieces. the squirrels and birds alike. When i leave this place I will sure miss the shade from those trees. It keeps it cool indoors.
