friday fun!

Friday, June 24, 2011

More mud on moms ceiling, eaves troughs and downspouts on, treetop cut off, more storm doors installed,, been washing moms pillows, afghans, bedspreads, etc,,

Learned lots of things from Dad, but today I knew he was hovering over his garage ceiling: When the guys removed the old doors, the neighbor, three doors down saw the doors propped in the garage, called moms house, talked to DD, I got over there after work, called him, he will stopped by tonight to look at them and offered me three times what I was going to ask for them!! Cha-Ching!! these doors are 33 years old or more!!

Peepholes are finished, ceiling will be sanded and painted tomorrow, as will the finish up of door installation, possibly siding repair too!!

Want keys??We've GOT keys!!

Thursday, June 23, 2011

Contractor was installing doors all day. French slider looks fantastic, all six steel doors are on, not all of them are trimmed out, but the house is now secure. That extra $$ I spent to buy the security anti-kick-in, was really worth it.. Gary said he had never installed them before, but was going to put them on his doors..
all doors (Storms and steel exterior) are all keyed to one key.. so what did we get? EIGHTEEN KEYS!! One for storm door lever, one for steel lever, one for deadbolt!!!
We don't need to get those German Shepherds now,, the only thing that will knock those doors down is a police battering ram.. literally!!

I got out of work a little early, so took this opportunity to clear out more of moms papers,, cards from 1958-1973!!!!!!!!!!! She saved every one that she received or gave dad......
that was just one drawer,,
got bills paid, called elder attorney to make addendum in trust, and did some laundry,,
we just got home and are ready for bed,, so glad it is Friday tomorrow..
I guarantee my moms house is secure,, the perimeter is secure, fer sure!!

mom back in hospital..

Tuesday, June 21, 2011

Moms place called to tell us at 6 am that she was back in the hospital,, same thing as a week ago, her upped dose of catapres patch seems to be having a bad effect on her,, I just talked to nurse there and suggested her BS may be dropping at that time of the morning,, maybe give her a piece of cheese, OJ, etc ,, along with the BP prob;

years of alcohol, and disregarding your diabetes and other problems, ravages the human body,, paybacks are hell,,
unlike last time, they actually brought her back there without us,,
last week they told us that teh ambulance ride would be our responsibility , so we brought her back there form the hospital.. today they did it..

two storm doors did not come in from manufacturer since they are a brand new model, so teh delivery will be tomorrow instead of today.. guys tore ceiling out and drywalled it instead, will have the whole crew there tomorrow and work all day.. we are suppose dto get hail, severe thunderstorms the next two or three days,,
Michigan weather is like that, we live around it..
