Very cold here(37) snow this weekend again...

Some people asked about my massage,,
Bayshire Beauty Academy has a School of Massage Therapy next door.. for the insanely low price of $30,yes, $30, one can receive a 90 minute hot stone massage.($20 for an hour) NO, they do not do acupuncture, but if they did, I would be the first on the table!!
The massage begins in a darkened room with nature music playing softly, aromatherapy candles..
Eight hot stones are placed on the bed covered with a towel, one lies on their back on these(they are large smooth, river stones) and the face, earlobes,l neck scalp, get massaged,, any pressure strength you wish and anything you do not wish touched is your desire, just tell them what you want,, a small hot stone between your eyebrows, on your thighs, tops of your feet, abdomen, one in each hand to grasp, then shoulders, hands , pull each finger joint, massage fingers and press certain points on your fingers for things like a headache, sinus problems, etc,, I had a headache, but it left within five minutes.
Next is feet, each toe, ankles, extensive foot massage, (at this point, I wanted to marry him) all starting out using his hands, then using a hot ,smooth stone in each hand,,
a deep tissue massage can be had if requested, I did,,
after both sides are finished, he replenishes stones with more hot ones,
flip on your abdomen and the process begins again,,
hot stones on the bottoms of your feet, in each hand, on back, thighs, shoulders,,
the very tight knotted muscles are massaged out, leaving your body like gelatin and your mouth purring like a Lamborghini engine!!

I asked to have the deep massage due to my fibromyalgia to release the lactic acid, it is sometimes painful but afterward your muscles feel so much better,, I fought through that pain until he did the lighter massage and gently flitted his fingers across my whole body to release his energy onto my skin..

My friend got one of these massages for her and the hubby on a cruise $300 each for the same thing,, not sure how much they cost in a day spa.. BUT if you have a school near you, run to them with your money in hand!!!

I plan on scheduling one each month now,,

This makes you more aware of your anatomy, feeling the muscles as they run the the stones over them, getting softer as the tension is released,,

When the massage is finished, you must drink double your water intake to flush that lactic acid, which the muscles release, so you are not cramped or very sore the next day,, that makes the massage complete!
I consider this a medical necessity for me,, the great thing is, you can tell them what not to do ,, gentle or deep tissue, don't massage this or that, where our pain is,etc,, the students get graded , so they do a fantastic job!!! I tip well..!!
does that answer the ??? ?

OH Yes it sure does. I will look in to it right away, I do not think we have such a place but by George I will find a place. I have only had one really good massage and it was $200.00 and I did not pay for it I bartered it for a huge amount of alterationd. It worked for both of us at the time. I knoe regular massages are very expensive. All we have is a beauty school who do $4.00 hair cuts. Needless to say I have not gone there except to take a friend there who was desperate for a cut before an interview. She got the job I am not sure the hair did anything for her but her skills did. HUGS Pat in maine. THANKS for the details LINDA. emoticon emoticon

I like the idea of an iPad for the portability. Smaller and great battery life.
There are all kinds of Note Pads out now. Not just the iPad.
If you have a desk top you can use it for printing, etc. and then use the note pad in bed.
OK now I have to get my fund going for my iPad.....

I have money set aside for a laptop. Wanted it for when I can't handle sitting up for long periods of time, can take it to bed with me! Still haven't found that "perfect" one, though. Thought at one point I did, but battery life was poor. Keep hoping someone would come up with a fancy dancy battery that would last longer than an hour in a souped up machine.

Also would like the portability. Although I think some of the fancier little gadgets nowadays can do almost the same and a lot lighter.
Must do more research.

Three A.M. morning

Saturday, April 09, 2011

The day is burning away, time to get up,, actually, hip and joint pain are bad, going to get my hairs camouflaged and cut this morning , so might as well get up and maybe walk before I go..
Did some hose sucking yesterday, the two hoses are still draining water off the pool cover,, there are probably about forty-fifty bushels of leaves under that water,, that is the hard part..
maybe before church today I will start scooping some out..

Very hard day at work,, left immediately after work to bank for mom, then to Walgreens for mom, then to visit mom.. labeled her wheelchair, new walker, old walker, brought her more diapers and tissues, visited with her and other folks awhile,, till my internal dinner bell rang,,
actually things took an upswing after work: I received checks for all the money the car insurance company took from mom's account after she no longer had a vehicle.. that $$ should pay for her new gutters on her house,, all of her income tax return $$ was deposited in her account, as was all that $$ I did all that paperwork for and faxed to the investment company Monday..

I got a bill for all of that lab work the rheumatologist ordered for me for February,, to the tune of $700!! I got a big bargain on that,, insurance paid lots, so all I owe the lab is $200!!
On the downturn, I also got a bill for my slam-o-gram that I already paid,, but this bill is four times what I already paid.. my insurance should have covered it,, got another phone call to make..
Some things are looking up.. mom is finished with her PT at her new home, maybe the rent will decrease,, it should..
still have to pay trust attorney and wait to hear what I am supposed to do with all this money in her checking account.. more $$ than I have ever earned in my lifetime!!

It is times like this that I know I HAVE to get away for a few days or keel over from the stress.. no more guilt over the $$ I am spending on myself..

The wedding is very small:I am the only attendant standing with groom's uncle. Church Mass, reception in parish hall afterwards,, we are also going back to their house to take pics in their gazebo..
very laid back,,

I made my hot stone massage appointment for next week.. we will be back from Hawaii,, also made hair appointment,, they asked me if I minded a male masseuse.. I actually prefer one as they have more upper body strength to give a better massage..
all the color has gone from my eye now, just a huge scab and red mark on my knee from the fall.. glad it is gone for the wedding..

wrote a note to Upper Peninsula cabin owner to see if they have the cabin available for me in August,, he will receive it by Saturday,, hope to hear from them soon..
