4 NO's cool

Wednesday, July 24, 2013

Well, of course, remember how I always refer to Linda's Law?

Well, the workplace is cool as a cucumber today,, the outdoor temps fell thirty degrees overnight and the HVAC at work got repaired.
Another point for Linda's Law is: I did not have to be at work until 10:00 and was home three hours later..
Murphy was an amateur!!

When we were looking for a house, we researched for over two years. I found a place behind the baseball field of the elementary school for my daughter, two blocks from the fire station, three blocks from the hospital and ambulance service, directly behind our dentist, within a mile of our church and my fave grocery store, our credit union within a mile.
When we finally found the right house for us, we got all moved in in a couple days. The very next week, the county cut funds for the firefighters, closed the station near us, the township closed the elementary school that I could toss a rock at behind us, the hospital closed and sold out to a nursing facility.
the grocery store went across town DIRECTLY BEHIND THE APARTMENT COMPLEX WE MOVED FROM!!!!!!!! All within a week!

They re-opened the fire station, but everything else was gone. Pfft!!!!!
Linda's Law.
I had to laughingly remember my luck: "I could fall into a barrel of lips and come out kissing my own *$$!"

It is so dry here that DD did not even have to mow dad's lawns. Ours is surrounded by huge, 30 foot trees so it is quite shady most of the time.. our concern is watering the berries and picking them before the critters get them for the moisture..

Haw! Glad they've gotten things fixed up, and you're feeling better. I bet the whole workplace suddenly became a lot more productive, too.

4NO's sweatin' with an oldie!

Still no air at work,, I do not mean AIR CONDITIONING PEOPLE, I mean NO AIR circulation in the ceiling vents!! A/C will be a wonder , but just to breathe air that is not total humidity and hotter than outdoors, is sought. I estimated the temp in my area today at about 100 degrees.. 95% humidity.. The usual HVAC that services here is on vacation.. They finally called somebody else to come in..

The job I do is usually done by twenty- thirty year olds.. I am sixty. The good part is:99% of my cardio is done at work,, my heart rate is always up at least 50-75%. For almost my whole shift.

I was so tired last night, DD said I walked into my bedroom took my glasses off, fell on the bed and within one minute, she heard me snoring.. I do not remember anything.. I almost slept through the night.. one potty break,, usually it is every hour..

I cannot imagine elders who live alone and fall asleep in the heat and never wake up..

if any of you knows anybody like that, it may be a lifesaver to them, just to call them or stop by.. somebody from your church, a neighbor, relative..

...but for the Grace of God go I...

I've worked places like that, in my younger days - I don't think I'd last now, and I'm the same age you are. No wonder it knocked you out by the time you got home...

I can't imagine. Sounds like a literal sweat shop. But now I'm getting more and more curious about just what it is that you do.

Hope you're still keeping hydrated.

4NO's Monday

Must retire when I can collect Medicare:66th birthday in January of 2019... I have no access to any other health care... Thanks to the Three Stooges form of health care available, I cannot change anything,, or pay fines AND still pay for insufficient coverage..

The air circulation system at work died and nobody could come to fix it today, so I was thoroughly drenched in glamorous sweat for over seven hours. I kept getting drinks of water, but I did not think the human body could release that much moisture outside of an autopsy,, I have watched them and today I felt like I lost more fluid than those bodies... the humidity is right back up there at about 80%...

At least I know I have shed any toxins that could have been hiding inside me.. I am built like Dad was,, I sweat like he did too..
Dd made me a protein smoothie when I got home.. ice, fresh strawberries, protein powder, juicy juice berry. I remember buying a yummy one at Jamba Juice when I was in Chicago for a week a few years ago.. This one is right up to THAT par of taste! they put raw carrots and celery, beets and kale in that one, but we are just experimenting now.. The powder tastes like vanilla pudding powder!! I am cooling down now.. ahhhhh..

    *sighs... @ the health care.

My crazy daughter duices raw carrots, apples, cucumbers, kale and spinache and even papaya, ginger and for protein adds powdered algae. Yuck!

Nice to know you had a lovely glow at work today. Even nicer to know you didn't get heat exhaustion. I think there's a special place in heaven for people like your DD.

I've read that beets are a powerful cleanser, so it's important to start carefully with them in your juice. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have some tomorrow. :)

4NO's hike day

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Dd and I went to the marsh and walked, meet some nice people, watched cranes fishing in Lake Huron,, I fear that one of the mute swans died since we only saw one,, this is the second year in a row that their eggs were not viable.. The weather is the best day we have had this year.. windows open, nice breeze, no clouds,, after that scary storm we had the other day, we are still cleaning up limbs and debris,, still people without power,,
back to work tomorrow,,
