4 NO's still going!

Tuesday, June 25, 2013

I am glad that this 4 no's challenge is not in the winter: baking, holidays with sweets..
I eat both fruits and veggies on my plate, so desserts are not a biggie temptation.
I go to bed so early, there is little time to be tempted to cheat.. tonight I might stay up until it is dark outside!!Oooh!

4NOS!

Monday, June 24, 2013

Still no'ing!! yesterday I had a turkey wrap with lettuce, ranch dressing, turkey, bacon. No cooking!!

that was later when I cleaned the strawberries and decided to make a couple batches of freezer jam. I forgot that this pectin has to be boiled for one minute, so I still had to turn the stove on!!
I ended up with eight one-cup jars, one two-cup jar and three fourths of a large jar.

It took me longer to clean the berries than it did to make the jam.. At four p.m. I can put them in the freezer..
Finding things to do indoors in this unhealthy weather is easy,, clean, preserve, stay cool!!

4NOS

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Boss61 threw out the gauntlet a challenge..Only a few of us bit on it.. if you read my previous blog.. no desserts, no seconds, no cheating, no excuses!! 4 NOS!

Today is going to be near 90 with that 100% humidity.. with no desserts, fresh fruit is on the agenda big-time.. I am going out the door here , early to avoid trying to breathe through wet cotton.. that is how it feels here in this weather..

This weekend is the "River Roar" a power boat race on the river a couple miles from here.. The boats go upriver for a few miles and turn around and go upriver out to Lake Huron,, at speeds in the hundreds of mph! We can hear their engines here, indoors with the windows closed and tv and A/C on!!

I am being good, no deserts, only iced tea, salad, fruit and eggs.
I WILL WIN THIS 4NOS CHALLENGE!

Wow!! It was 86 degrees, 100% humidity and we went out in the morning to trim our hedges.. Thank my Creator for iced green tea!! I have decided to make green tea popsicles.. they are not a dessert, nor a second helping,, just a frozen calorie-free drink. That is not cheating..
I did find my baking soda,, boiled some go-to eggs.. The soda changes eh pH of the water, making the eggs peel easily.

I drink a lot of ice tea myself. I drink a mix of regular black tea with some constant comment tea, and cinnamon stick tea. It's quite refreshing. Do you think the green tea help with your weight loss or that it makes a difference? Why do you need baking soda to boil eggs?
