I am determinded to work in the yard this week,, not today, haha!! i just got out of work, showered, went through my mail, some of mom's bills, paid a few, , ate breakfast. I am supposed to meet with my ccousin from Sand Point(near Pigeon,MI) while she is in Saginaw, about ten miles from here. SHe has a class at teh University where I graduated, tehn is to talk with a profesor, so I will wait for her at Hunan, a great Chinese place near there.

I havee about eight bags of organic soil to split and shovel into my berries. I have decided against a garden. My arthritis and fibromyalgia are taking atoll on how I am able to move now. I can walk for hours , but bending and lifting are verboten!!

I had grand plans of a a garden where the pool was, but now cannot afford to pay somebody to till it and then the plants and caring for it all summer,, We will be gone for a week right about harvest time, so I will just go for the deals at the fruit market. I may do some canning, but I am starting to (DUH!) realize that I am no longer 20 years old and able to go from pre-dawn until midnight anymore. Caring for dad's house and ours, has become more work as time goes by. DD is now with my ex again at dad's house to unload dad's lawn mower and I am sure, mowing that acre and a half of backyard grass.
I am slowly coming to realize that I can't actually do things just because I WANT to do them... IT is depressing, painful and just plain reality. There is a big difference between giving up and recognizing one's limitations. It is ahard fact to swallow, but I still try to do things I know in my heart are physically impossible ever again. Not that I am a stubborn German/Scotch/French old lady or anything!!!

If wishin' were gittin' we'd all be millionaires!

I finally got my deck waterproofed. Wasted an hour trying to unclog my sprayer, finally said, oh well, junked it.. I am not a wasteful person, but I was standing in the sun, (Yes, it is actually shining again for the second day!) and hot. It is old, gummed up and I did everything but hook it up to my power washer to open the lines. Time to get a new one..
I know my departed Dad is reading this over my shoulder, ready to drag me out to the garage to haul it our of the junk pile!!

I tied my huge blackberry bushes up, they were shooting out into the yard,, I have a lot of blossoms on them this year.. I still have to pour a LOT of dirt on he raspberries and blackberries, but not today.
back to work tomorrow, more rain, then nice weekend, hopefully, back to work in the yard!!

My Dad would have asked me why I let it get gummed up in the first place instead of taking care of it and then would expect me to try harder to correct it. (of course, I could sit in the shade.)

This blog really struck my funnybone!!!--- My Dad would not waste anything, or even buy anything but the basic essentials.... He was frugal as they come! So, reading about your departed dad-- ready to drag you to the garage for the sprayer--- made me laugh! When we were kids growing up, we all knew that if we asked for ANYTHING that costs money, the answer was "NO!"

There IS a sun out there int eh sky!! No rain today...
I have been making an effort to change my attitude at work. SO many people are bossy, negative.. I started forcing myself to stand back and listen first, force a positive response or none. It has been working, others noticed, but think I am sick or hard of hearing, haha!!
Life is too short to let an attitude or careless remark, make either my day or somebody else's, less than wonderful.

This is SO true! Good for you! Just because the world is usually in a bad mood doesn't mean we have to conform...I love not conforming...as long as I know that what I am not conforming to is the wrong way anyway! Have a great Tuesday! WHERE do the days/weeks go, anyway?

Yesterday my edema subsided after I took another lasix. I have to say I am thankful for indoor plumbing though. I would get all comfy in the recliner: doubled pillow on lap for laptop, doubled up pillow on footrest of recliner to elevate feet, remote in hand, book in hand. Ahhhhh.. two minutes later the lasix kicked in, drop footrest, gently put pillow and laptop on floor, move foot pillow, set remote//book down. run to recycling room!!! Just in time!

I did that SEVEN times in an hour, feet were still unable to fit in shoe, but slip on slippers tightly fit.

Drank 96 ounces of water, carefully monitored my sodium(thank God apples and bananas do not have a lot!!

got a surprise phone call from an out-of-state Spark friend!! talked for 90 minutes and still did not finish what we wanted to say!
Ex hub in town to help DD mow dad's huge lawn,, take their mower back home to let his father in law work on it again.

Today is dark, so dark, it actually NEVER got light out. rain, humidity.
I am thanking God today for helping my health yesterday.
I woke up with grossly edematous feet and ankles. I could not put a stocking or shoe on them, so spent the whole day in recliner with feet elevated, I doubled up on my Lasix, prayed I would not have to call the doctor. He changes a med, doubled another, switched times on three of them. He also told me I only have to take my BP and BS once a week until i see him again in three months.

One of the side effects of two of the meds is edema. For this to just all of a sudden blow up, is strange. I marked it on my BS page to show him later.

I agree with all the other posts who said you should let the doctor know right away! He might be able to do something to help or at least tell you If that reaction is normal.
Sorry you are having problems. emoticon emoticon

    Really sorry to hear.

I would let the doctor know if it would help to do so.

Oh yea, definitely sounds like a reaction to the new med. Anything that quick, out of nowhere, hope you let the Doc know right away.

Have a great day. I'm sure this stuff'll all get worked out, the sooner the better. emoticon emoticon
