Still very cold here, we got a hard frost last evening, so no planting yet. Back to flannel and furnaces, fireplace and frost.

"When you thought I wasn't looking"

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator,
and I wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you feed a stray cat,
and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make my favorite cake for me,
and I knew that little things are special things.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I heard you say a prayer,
and I believed that there was a God to talk to.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I felt you kiss me goodnight,
and I felt loved.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw tears come from your eyes,
and I learned that sometimes things hurt,
but it's alright to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw that you cared,
and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I looked....
and I wanted to say thanks for all the things
I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.

Very cold today,,furnace on again!

Saturday, May 11, 2013

The past two days were very warm,, hot actually, today I turned the furnace on,, in fact, I was asleep and awoke because I was cold, could not get warm!! I have a quilt and a fleece blanket on and gradually got colder until I rose and turned the furnace on,,it has been turned off for about a month or more..
might as well stay up for awhile,, get things accomplished.. I see a np in my future and I am not even psychic!!

I am always cold and DH is always hit. We put the furnace off but when i go to my room I have a vornado fan,I love it. This fan blows warm air in a circular pattern and it very quickly heats the room. i do of course keep my door closed I hope you warm up soon. We are in the 50's but even with the rain the temperature will go up. HUGS LINDA.
Stay well and warm. Thanks for comments on my blogs. Instead of yard work i am looking for plants for the yard,

I too am having trouble with the erratic weather. The rain makes it feel cold and the weather forecast for our area showed 80s and even 90s over the weekend and possible snow showers on Monday. Furnaces can always be turned back off when you have warmed up.

Yep, it's cold here too. This is a really good excuse for me to do a "sweating" workout today! (and my DH is going to build us a fire in our woodburning stove)

My furnace will stay off - it is in the 50's but I won't be home that long.

SO I wake up after a very busy day a work yesterday followed by a very cardio day at home, exhausted,, with the mentality of "Just get through tomorrow ...
I was so tired last night that I do not even remember putting my head on the pillow!! I am serious.
I have fainted with more memory than that!! I actually woke up at 12:30 am with my head half on the pillow, my feet hanging over the side of the bed! I did not even grab the covers or anything!!

When I next woke up at 4:15am, all was well,, back to sleep.. Fifteen minutes later, the train going by, woke me up, THANK GOD!!
The power went out in the surrounding area, thousands of people without power.. for four hours.. BUT, my workplace had power,, natch..

I woke so early, but could not take my BP, used flashlights to bump around in the house..
no opening the fridge or anything so i just washed up in the dark, no BS testing or eating. hen disengaged my automatic garage door opener, hoisted it up, drove down very dark streets, no traffic lights for about forty miles.. nothing,, North of us is rural farm country, but to see black everywhere and to tread lightly, hoping no yahoo decided to pull out in front o f me on the main drag (U.S 23 north).
We were so busy at work, my boss wanted me to start work an hour early,, I went there early so I would not fall asleep at home.

Turns out our workplace was the only place within miles with any power!! Even the hospital and police departments!

For the next eight hours, I never stopped .. I took my pulse after a half hour there, and it was 120!! I did get a break finally after eleven, but it was along time between four when I awoke and that break!

I am so physically exhausted, I told DD I will not leave the house for anything short of a house fire..
I actually had my heart rate above 100 for eight hours straight!! Way beyond my 10,000 steps and lost enough water in perspiration that I drank four twenty ounce glasses of water, an apple, oatmeal, two cheese sticks, and a 60 calorie carb wise yogurt, then two cans of pop, and a blueberry smoothie and a 24 ounce jasmine tea and only went to the restroom once in all that time!! I am home, guzzling water like a desert crosser and feeling much better,, MY body temp went down also..

Tomorrow is another day, I am glad this morning is a part of history,,,

That's a good reading on your BS.

You are still counting the minutes and ours until your retirement? Are you going until you are 66 or older?

Thursday, May 09, 2013

Finally, ex hubby came over and was here when I got home from work. They got the tractor started, mowed the lawn, but the battery will not keep a charge, so a new battery is in the works now. DD and he are shopping for that and new plugs for dads mower, went over there awhile ago.

I power washed half the deck and got woozy, so stopped and said I could not go running around with them. He is good like that, he will buy what is needed and I will write him a check.
I think I started to get heat exhaustion,(maybe low blood sugar too) so came in and showered, felt somewhat better, and will unhook hose from washer later and bring it back in garage for overnight, IT is supposed to rain again tomorrow, so will finish washing deck later and let it dry before I re-seal it.

Got a call from moms place: she is unable to set up for her bi-weekly shower alone, so that will now add to the price of her care. Funds are dwindling fast.. she can dress her self, but I do not know how long she will be able to stay there..

I hope I die before anybody has to go through what I am going through for her. It is a full time job, plus my real job and caring for two homes.
I am tired.

Managing 2 houses is a full-time job, but you had a productive day. You were smart to come in when you were not feeling well. Hang in there. Your ex sounds like a decent guy.
