So glad I took a gander at the sun yesterday, none today,, it looks more like October or NOvember,, grey skies and cold winds.

No more shaky incidents today, but worked late in the day and made a few phone calls for appointments. I am trying to move more to rid myself of the winter shaky legs syndrome.. WHen it is always wet, icy, slippery wherever you walk, you end to walk like a G.I putting his foot forward to feel for land mines. For those that never had to live like this, picture yourself walking on wet jello everywhere except your own home, for seven months out of he year. Entrances to buildings are wet and slippery too.

Got call form cabin owners in the U.P today to confirm my cabin in August. I wanted to give him my credit card number last month when I called to confirm, but he told me he would call me back later since he was making a new form to fill out and wanted to do it then. Well, now I have to call them back since I was at work when he called. Phone tag,, I called the dental clinic Friday to make an appointment.I CALLED THEM.
While I was at work this monrning, they called me to confirm the apointment,Pkay,, SHe then said, "Please call me back to confirm that you really want this appointment."

I call her back and ask he r why I have to call her back idf she is leaving ME a message confirming my appointment tomorrow. SHe told me thay have alwyaas done that.. Never heard of her, never knew she worked there..

I told her that I called THEM , therefore I wanted the appointment,, She did not understand this..(?????????????????????)
She argued with me that it has always been that way, I told her I have been going there for fifteen years and it has never happened to me yet,she told me that she has been there for FIVE years, so it has always been that way!
(?????????????????) Wha?

I just switched to a bundle package for phone, cable and internet,, I am thinking I somehow got hooked up to The Twilight Zone fiber optic network..
Was I not hearing or understanding something oh-so-obvious here?

For the first time in ten days the sun is out and bright in the sky!! We have not seen it since April 4!
No rain yet, but more snow on the way, supposedly.. Michigan is the only state in the union that we wear sunscreen, long-johns and sleeveless shirts under our hoodies every day! We do actually carry a bag packed with snow shovel, umbrella(bumbleshoot for those in the UK), swimsuit, sunscreen, toothbrush, change of undies and food staples and water in our car year round.
I feel much better today, got laundry going, headed out to pick up newspapers in a minute,, today I will go out and soak up some Vitamin D,if the sun is still out when I go to the door,,

Eight solid days of precipitation.. snow today, no sun. just snow and wind.
got up early and got my hairs cut, ran errands with DD.. Time to go bake some bread and do a little cardio.
I had an episode at the salon when I was leaving, I started to get the shakes like a ;caffeine rush, but I do not do caffeine, ever,, by the time I drove two miles to home, I ran in the house and told DD to pour me a glass of Welch's.. I ate a mozzarella stick and the juice,, very slightly helped.. had lunch slowly and very patiently waited for food to kick in.. This all happened in the course of less than a half hour... I have never had this happen before,, I anticipated a two hour salon trek, so ate a bowl of Rice Krispies and 1/2% milk, a cheese stick before I left the house earleir. This is what I have before work and it works,, for over four hours..
I do remember being hungry when I went to bed late, but just went to sleep.

I feel kind of tired, so will just do some baking and kitchen cleaning today.. a weird morning..

We had low snow cover this winter so we really do need rain. That said, I need a lot more emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Holy Mackerel!

Thursday, April 11, 2013

It is gale force winds here, and raining so hard people are pulling off the CITY STREETS they cannot see to drive..
I am thinking we have already gotten between three to five inches of rain since Tuesday. I can't be sure, but I think the guy down the street is building an ark.. If I see critters go marching two by two into that craft, I will have to get my snorkies around my arms and start smearing vaseline on my bod to keep less pruney for as long as possible.
It is just above freezing and my fibro has flared along with arthritis, so ironically, I had to stand UNDER HOT RUNNING WATER to help alleviate the pain ..

Our street was blessed about ten years ago to get new storm drain lines installed. Another neighbor informed me that the township had a $60,000 surplus as of that day and would I petition the other 24 neighbors on the street to get this $$ to pay for the pipes and connections,, labor would be just $300 added to our taxes over the next three years. The old ladies refused to sign, but I got over 80% of the people to sign, even my next door neighbors who were actually in the process of moving IN to their house!! I went to the Board meetings and it got approved. My back yard used to be a nesting ground for Canadian honkers, ducks, etc until this new line was put in..

I may have to invest in some serious sponges to absorb what the ground cannot hold.. This land around Lake Huron is famous for having lots of clay, so it kind o f burps water back 'atcha..

LINDA, I hope the rain abates and there is a quick warm up to dry the ground. We too have a house built on clay. The water just stays on top of the ground.
The poor Robins fall over after they tug on those worms they are so hard to get out of there.
It is bad enough with rain but cold and wind is so much worse than snow.

Sorry your weather is so bad.
It has to get better soon and the sooner the better will be GOOD!!

(((((HUGS))) and much love Stay warm. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon
