Good Friday

Friday, March 29, 2013

Our gift from above is seeing the sun for two days in a row! I see blue sky and some fluffy clouds!

Busy day at work, just scrubbing and cleaning. DD working on her medical regimen,, bleach baths, creams, making phone calls for doctors and U of M docs.
Going to get some more things for her comfort tomorrow and try to get her skin a little more cleared up for her comfort.

I do know that I learned that I may have to bite the bullet again to get yet another cleaning tool. My knees are shot form scrubbing floors on my hands and knees for years in teh cleaning business. Some homes had 5,000 square feet of tile or hardwoods and I cleaned every inch of them soem days on my knees.
I remember one place when i stood up, I felt blood vessels pop in both knees and they both swelled and turned back and blue immediately. I think that was the day my knees went to pot.

It paid for college and kept us in our home, but the price paid is my old-lady legs now. Oh yeah!! I AM old, haha!!
I think I may have to buy one of those scrubbing doo-hickeys on a stick to clean the bathtub. I have always cleaned everything by hand, no mops or short cuts, getting every corner, but now I know why God takes our vision when we age:so we cannot see the dirt we cannot reach to clean.

going to try to relax for a day tomorrow.. visit mom, pick up her mail and re-set the timer on the light in her living room now that it is still light out at 7 pm.
Everyone have a Blessed Easter!

I'm with NorasPat - I'm trying to learn to be a "satisfizer" rather than a "maximizer" - advice from my DD, lol. It's just so hard to know when it's good enough as opposed to not good enough. In that regard, it's always been black or white to me. Either it's clean, and I mean CLEAN - or it's not.

Try googling Don Aslett. I don't want to be advertising for a company, but besides selling supplies, they have videos that can give you more ideas, and their stuff really does work.

I like it but I use a different liquid I just squirt it on and do it.

I have accepted second best and my knees thank me.

Only I notice the floors when I sweep now the mud season is in ful swing I just sweep till the weekend.

Take it easy relax and enjoy we have more winter than summer so lets just go with the flow. HUGS Pat (((HUGS)))

Holy Thursday

Thursday, March 28, 2013

We are back from University of Michigan. It was a beautiful day, the trip was very close to the last one , but easterly.. The temp was about 45 degrees, we did not even have coats, short sleeves! Two different specialists this time, but everything went smoothly. DD got two different Rx's to help her.
She is to take bleach baths, apply creams and salves. Wrap body parts in plastic wrap for a f ew hours a couple times a day..
next time she gets a flare up she will be admitted to U of M hospital for a week, with very aggressive treatment in a sauna suit for a couple times a day with light therapy.
I feel much more confident driving down there now. the rush hour traffic was heavier this time but the weather made up for the rush.
Thank you for all of your sincere prayers and wishes for my DD, it is the greatest gift I could ever receive.

Wild Wednesday

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

I had a very hard day at work, worst in months actually.
It was made even worse by Zack calling me at 4:33 am to ask if I could be in to work by 5! Sure, let me go outdoors and see if I see any flying pigs in the sky...
I went as fast as I could, went in way earlier than scheduled, but never stopped until I sat in my car to go home. I now my heart rate was up for at least four hours..
Zack then had the gas to ask if I wanted to stay later..
He called my house and woke me from a beautiful dream of lying on eh beach in Hawaii(my life's dream actually) watching natives paddling a catamaran and I was actually getting a tan!! I could smell the hibiscus, feel the suns' rays on me and *POOF* he woke me up!
I am going to do no work, just shower and relax for tomorrow's trek south.

I feel somewhat better after seven doses of augmentin. My ears still feel like they have water balloons in them, but no pain or vertigo.

Thanks for all the prayers for healing dear friends.

I am going to Portland tomorrow for my EN T specialist I am so sick of my ears burping, ringing feeling stuffed and hearing high pitched whistling. EARS are the one place no -one can get a look in to. So after 3 weeks of this I am going to get it checked out. Of course tonight it is snowing and freezing.

I hope you are doing better very soon. I cannot use Augmentin, i did try another decongestant but now heart burn up the YING YANG!!! Growing old is not for the faint hearted for certain.

I hope tomorroe goes much better for you LINDA. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon

It's Cable Guy Day!

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

We have our man Tim, installing a bundle here,, he is totally rewiring ,, I heard him tell somebody that he will be here for at least a couple hours. We never call them have had cable for over thirty years, so I guess it is due. Right on time too,, He is punctual.

I got my cardio in after work by using my new steam floor cleaner in my kitchen. What a dream!! I swept debris and dust, and zipped around on that floor, it's fantastic! Aldi's has come up with two winners for this household:steam floor cleaner and room vaporizer!! Yahoo!
My heart rate is going down now,, i moved the chairs and table and just started putting the steamer away and cable guy showed up!! perfect timing!
Still more to do but my back and neck are throbbing,.,, old age syndrome.. lol..

Took "anti-dizzy med(DD calls meclazine that) at H.S and went to work this morning with headache, earache,, drowsy.. I KNOW it is an inner ear infection and do not know why after 60 years here, I am getting these darned things!

I called doc's office and told them it is the same thing I had in December,, Doc will call a script in to Kroger this afternoon so I can get started on that regimen.

DD called University of Michigan to confirm appointment Thursday, to make sure she still keeps taking her meds as usual, but mostly I wanted to make sure it is at the same office as the last appointment,,Good thing she DID call because it is in the hospital at the University of Michigan Medical Center!! Not even in the same city as the office!!

Neither one of us has ever been down to Ann Arbor, I am paranoid of driving around there near Detroit and those crazy webs of ramps and exits!!
I did just fine in California driving from San Jose to San Diego (600 miles) in eight hours, but as much as everybody warned me about West Coast drivers, people in California were like a caravan of Mother Teresa's relatives compared to Detroit and its' burbs!

I have driven I-75 from Canada to Florida, I-5 from San Francisco to San Diego, but this 100 mile trek scares me ... I have DD, GPS , google maps and directions, phone numbers, but no bullet proof glass or nerves of steel..
I know we will do fine, I always have stressed driving south of my home,, only south, it is bad , bad,bad if you get lost in the "hood" down there, I have done it before.. people daring you to stop at a stop sign or red light,, just to see what they will do.. scary stuff..

okay, now that I have vented , I think I can pretend I am driving to a spa or airport ramp for flight to Hawaii.. yup, that is it.. emoticon emoticon emoticon
