Thank God It's The Weekend!
Got out of work very early, so had my game plan ready to go for he day. DD was waiting for me, I changed clothes, grabbed pre-packed bag of receipts for places to go today. Off we go to library to return her book, drive across the street to mail an envelope of vacation brochures to fellow Sparker readytolose to peruse with her friend next week.. they will be joining us next summer for our Yoopee trek.
Next stop was gas station to reap 40 cents off/gallon reward earned at Kmart yesterday along with in-store bargains. STILL NO SLIPPERS!!!!!!!
Nest stop Kmart to get receipt corrected for my credit card,,seems when I checked my daily receipts from cards/purchases, I found that clerk charged me twice for set of jammies.. even though they were half priced, I am not paying for any CEO's condo in the Cayman's...

Left there, went ot check our bargains at Walgreen's,, ended up getting needed things for me..
back home, I again checked receipts, did a couple store surveys online for free merchandise.. yea..
Time to rest here on my dupa` for awhile..

After Christmas shopping.. after work DD and I went to look at slippers for me.
Couple hours later and out we go with no slippers but some bargains. I have two Christmas gifts for next year, new unmentionables and DD did the same. Had a free lunch at a local place, came home,,I did way more than my 10,00 steps today,,

Since there are only 362 shopping days until Christmas eve next year, we decided to stimulate the economy with my plastic and hers:gift cards and credit cards!!

Don't know why it's so hard to find good slippers these days. Glad you didn't say anything about unmentionables. I hate blushing.

Blessed Christmas Day!

Tuesday, December 25, 2012

I slept three whole hours in a row!! Merry Christmas to me!

Today marks the first day I began taking medicine for diabetes. I tried so very hard for the past five or six years to stave it off, but no matter how much I did, BANG! I woke up one morning to a 147 blood sugar at the lab,, my 12 hour fastings were always about 90-94 every three months.
Short of a total body transplant, I guess this is the beginning of the downhill ride. I am not giving up fighting off stronger meds or insulin though.
I do not feel any different after taking the med.. wonder how long it takes to feel anything or if I ever will??...
My biggest dream would be to lessen the neuropathy in my feet..

I went to church this morning and there were a LOT more people there than last year. Usually people go the night before, but it was nice to have a full house. We sang Christmas carols, and even though it is bitterly cold outside, it seemed very warm , even heading out the church doors.

We are just taking it easy today,, not sure what DD did earlier, but I watched a movie through my eyelids.. Thank God I saw it before so I know how it turned out!

HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS, HAPPY KWANZA TO ALL!!!

Diabetes is a progressive disease. Good management slows the progression. It's good you are doing what it takes to be in control.

I know it seems really crappy right now, but don't look at it as a downhill ride, look it as one more challenge to face head on. I am on multiple daily dose insulin for my Type 2, and I was miserable about doing it at first, but now I wish I had done it sooner. I'm certainly not saying you should, or ever will, be on insulin. I'm just saying that the aid of medications makes your life a lot easier, if you doctor believes it's appropriate for you. I'm so thankful my doctor insisted despite the fight I put up over it.

I hope you are able to see the glass half full on the medications after you take them for a while!

Merry Christmas.

Christmas Eve

Monday, December 24, 2012

Anticipating tomorrow morning at church makes me want ot go to bed right now. DD and had planned to visit my mother tomorrow after Mass, but I was not exhausted when I got out of work this afternoon, so we hit the road, checked out her dentures, supplies and visited for awhile. We were , as usual, the only visitors there.

When I walked in teh door fromwork, DD ahd arranged our Chritmas stockings, tre and skirt, wrapped her gifts and placed them under the tree, and was showered and dressed, ready to go.

We delivered a gift to my friend way out in the country, had dinner, and now I really am exhausted.

I want to wish a Peaceful and Blessed Christmas to everyone here, may you cherish what you have, never envy what you do not, and set an example to others to do the same..
Savor every moment of tomorrow an all of the celebration with friends and family.
