What is a dull moment?

Wednesday, December 12, 2012

Please tell me.. what is a real dull moment????

After work today I had plans to take DD to pick her car up from the hospital,, he was discharged and she was itching to get him home. I also wanted to get a Rx filled for the prep for next week.. kind of being in the eye of the BEAST, so to speak..BUT
today was another MOM day,, part of her denture is rubbing on her gum, so we rearranged all of our errand plans..
first, off to pick up car, then drop car off at home, go to visit mother and check it out, check out her supplies. After determining I have to take her out and find a dentist who will see her, etc,, we see my three cousins in the living room. so we all go out there to visit .. Oldest Cousin is 75, going on 30, she will be leaving for Florida Dec 28, so they wanted to visit before she leaves.. That was a two hour delay we did not plan on, but it was so much fun..
we then stopped at Walgreen's to pick up her underwear, some diabetic supplies and meds.. had a bite to eat, then I finally sat down to pay the stack of bills, but I am so exhausted, I will do my Christmas cards out tomorrow... hopefully,,

My ears feel much better: I am able to bend over without falling over or having severe vertigo...

As soon as we got home, I let my fingers do the walking and started phoning dentists nearby. I found one who is only a mile or so from MY home, but I have to go pick mom up early in the morningTHE DAY OF MY PREP for the scope, next MOnday,, will get her over there for 8:30 am. take hr back to her place, then get home in time to start the prep,, I hope stress doesn't make the prep any worse or I am in big trouble..

I cannot even stretch my imagination to see how I could possibly bake, buy and wrap gifts, work full time, care for the tow homes, and host Christmas too!!!!!!
This year it is just DD and I, I get one day off,(Christmas) and the Saturday following that we will drive the 60 miles north to take our gifts to the great niece and nephew.
I wish we could go at night, but the deer are all over the roads this time of year, moving nightly, so there would be about a 75% chance of hitting one no matter which roads we take..

I cannot wait to see the kids and give them their gifts!!

Wow! Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. Don't overdo things. It's no good to try to do a whole bunch of things and then be so tired that you don't really enjoy the holiday.
Take some time for you. If you're not well, you will not be able to help anyone else.
God bless you.

emoticon You are way to busy...hopefully you can slow down just a bit. Just remember what doesn't get done today will still be there tomorrow. I am so glad that you have your mom to do things for. Enjoy every moment you have with her. Good luck to you as you prepare for your scope.
Blessings and hugs,

WHOA, LINDA, it is hard to prioritize with that much on your calender.

It will get done for sure, it;'s just the way we were raised. We were raised to have a great work ethic but we became workaholics.
Take care of yourself, Try not to overdo it with the colonoscopy on the horizon.

I swear that time speeds up between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Seems that way every year. I can tell this scope and prep are weighing heavily on your mind. I'm not sure I would have taken the app't the same day as your test. Glad to hear that your vertigo is improving.

NOt much new here,, awaiting my scope date, with joy,, that I am able to even get one,, when I read people's blogs here about having to go to their doctor or whatever, I feel sad that they are ill, but even more sad that they are not expressing the joy that is to have insurance to be able to get treated.. Most of my health challenges go untreated because I cannot afford it. Most of my wages go for my health insurance, the rest of the check goes for the co-pays and whatever the insurance will not cover.
No, it is not a joy to go fro chemo, but what if nobody would give it to you or you lost everything you won to get it, then what? When I am sick, I am grateful for my insurance, such as it is,. but more than I would have if I sat around and did not work. I lost all of my coverage with my divorce, so I was thrilled to get insurance after years of none. Those were the years that I must have developed diabetes, high BP, high cholesterol, fibro, migraines, asthma. When I finally could get a doctor and be seen, I was a wreck physically, so it cost more in the long run.

I never take anything I have, for granted, except bills and ills!! LOL!

I recently decorated my page to reflect the Christmas season, but one of my Sparkfriends seemed to be in pain when he/she tried to look at the colors, so I am taming it down to help with that. I am not offended, as a mater of fact, one of MY Sparkfriends has a page with very bright colors all of the time and I stopped going there because of that, I could never read anything, it hurt my eyes to try and it was not pleasing to MY eyes. I now just comment on her message board messages.
i am glad they did mention it to me,, what if I offended someone and they stopped reading because I chose those colors. I just got tired of pastels and thought I would go for the macho-Santa-elf theme for a few weeks, but I changed this to forest green for the manly-man theme for delicate eyeballs.

I returned to work today and it was not as bad as I thought. I slept from Friday evening at 11 until Saturday until nine , then back to sleep from ten Am. until 6 p.m.,, then back to bed at eight p.m until 9 Am. Sunday morning.. Then back to bed last night at seven until eight Am this morning...

DD and I ran errands when I got home from work,, now back to work and bill paying..

The prep for my scope is called Nulitely.
It cannot possibly be as bad as the dreaded Citrate of Mag (8 oz., then NINE Dulcolax pills, then enemas until clear, then suppositories. that was the last prep I did in the 70's. Clear liquids was the least of one's worries back then!!!!!!! Did you guys ever think of just plugging your nose??????
If it tastes no worse than the worm in the bottom of a tequila bottle, It will be a breeze to drink..

Bakc in my younger days, I made quite a bit of money from people betting me I would not eat that worm(I could not drink the booze) ,, I think in one winter I stashed a cool $200 at $5 a pop by betting people I could.. No taste, chased it with a big root beer and I made enough money to go to Disneyland for a week!! On WORM MONEY!!
It is the after-effects I fear.. so happy we got two new (No pun intended, I swear) stools last month!!

Oh my gosh, Linda! I can't imagine eating the worm in a bottle of Tequila! I have to admit that I have food prejudices. If it doesn't look good, I'm not touching it!
Your colors are fine. I have to agree that some pages are VERY difficult to visit, much less read. Hope you're not snowed in! emoticon

I have not taken a fence. I'm not sitting on a fence. I like forests and trees and rivers and dogs and deers and stuff. I know what bears and things do in the woods. I've never eaten the worm. I drink beer and bourbon sometimes. I don't smoke cigars. I'm too dang old to be manly, more like a curmudgeonly old so-and-so.

I like your blog. I like your page.

We got your ugly weather today. It took that long to get here. I commented on it in my blog today. Did you ever wonder about how the world is designed to ship tons and tons of water from west to east for free, but if we tried to ship it back it would cost more than we have?

Have a great evening. emoticon

I actually blogged that because Black on blue is just a bruising to the eyeballs too.

Your worm story reminded me of eating apples in the movies. I never bought candy i always bought one apple and after I had eaten i my big brother said it had a worm in it. I was ready to heave but I am one of those squeamish people and I blame it on my brother. Who I love dearly but rarely hear from. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I probably slept longer last night and this morning than I can remember in about forty years. The antivert makes me drowsy, as do the other two Rx meds I take, so I slept in the chair about nine hours, then went to bed and slept another thirteen hours. DD and I went to pick up a few essentials at the grocery store and back home, Fell asleep again in chair, but feeling a little bit stronger..

Today I am going to move around indoors, do some paperwork and laundry. I feel like I am in a haze. I was in pain last night and had a headache,, DD applied the Native American balm to my forehead, pain was gone within a half hour. I applied Minagin (Naive American) ointment to my hands and feet, pain gone within a half hour. I slept very peacefully.

I still need to buy the product called Nulitely for my scope prep. Clear liquids the day before, start the product at noon, , enjoy a close, personal relationship with my two bathrooms until scope time Dec 18. What a difference from the last ones I had in the 70's!!
I did everything but crank up a power washer back then. What an ordeal..

Glad you are getting good quality sleep. Be careful with mixing those sleep / drowsy aids. How's the ear feeling?

Scope? you mean Colonoscopy? that's coming up? Oh Joy! I used what was called Suprep day before.

Best of luck on that test.
