LINDA, I am still trying to adjust from quitting a medication 2 weeks ago. They said withdrawal was 8 days to 8 weeks. You bet I will go on like this for every day of those 8 weeks.

I hope you will be getting better soon, Take care my dear LINDA.

I Hope Mom is settling in.

LINDA I am so sorry I have lost all of my subscriptions. I had a weekend with grand daughter in hospital on her eighth birthday still not much news. I have read all the way back to the first. It has been a whole week and i am sorry I missed it all.
Yesterdays blog sounds like you have a place where they care enough to call and tell you Mom is doing OK, that is hopeful. We too have had lots of snow and now freezing rain and bitter cold weather. My feet are bad and I have to go to Portland foot and ankle. I have pain in both feet and I have to get it checked out. I have definitely checked the subscribe box so i should be able to keep up. Pat in Maine. HUGS. emoticon emoticon

As you know, friend... God does have a sense of humor at times.
Hugs and blessings sent your way.

Look, the worst that can happen with today would be Moms turns up preggers.

The day after Monday

Tuesday, February 08, 2011

A typical day in my life: went in basement to do laundry before getting in shower,, heard loud fizzing noise behind me: water heater spewing scalding water from the top, and bottom!! try to turn off emergency water supply, handle broken,, DD starts sucking up water with steam cleaner after we get water main shut off,,
rubber gasket on steam cleaner breaks,, no suction,, we plug in my contractor's shop vac,, very little suction,, I put call in to plumber,, he is across town headed to another job, buts turns around and heads our way!! DD figures out that vac hose is not screwed on tightly, we resume water sucking with shop vac..
plumber and I get hoses form my garage to empty heater, spray nozzle is frozen on hose, so he gets his short hose, not long enough to reach my tub,,,
We get rest of hot water in tub, I finally get sprayer off so he can use hose to drain water,,
he heads back to their store to get new heater, and fittings, ,, more water sucking..
I had taken my water pill, so no toilet-flushing of course,,,
guy gets back, we use my hand truck to get new heater down the stairs, move old one around corner in basement, we cannot horse it up stairs alone,, guy calls another employee who is about 50 miles away on another job, to help get old heater out,,
first guy leaves and about an hour later, both show up and get it upstairs, cannot lift it in van with 30 gallons of water in it, so they decide to drain it right on my only sidewalk to get in my house,, tell them it will freeze and we will fall on our dupa`; guy shovels cocoa colored water into snowbank..
now snowbank looks like we had major diarrhea in our front yard!! tee-riff-ick!!

In the middle of all this, (while we are freezing in our bare feet on cold, flooded, concrete floors),assisted living place calls, we are both afraid to answer, never good news with mom, just to tell us she is doing great on her first day...
can hardly wait to see what tomorrow brings:it is another mom day, we are going with her on dial a ride to doctor appointment..after I get out of work...

I'm so glad you are alright!! emoticon That could have been very dangerous! The plumbers seem to real professionals, though! It's great that he went right over to you even though he was going to another job! I guess an exploding hot water tank took priority over whatever job he was originally headed too.... emoticon

Praise God: We got mom transferred to assisted living for dementia!! those thoghtless peopel that cared for her all came in and congratulated her on GOING HOME JUST BEFORE SHE LEFT!!!!!!!I disticntly told the whole staff NOT to mention anything about home because she was never going back, but they all did it anyway,,
SHe go to teh facility with us waiting to greet her and looked aroudn and wanted to know why she was not home??!!

Supposedly professional people in a nursing home, telling a person that they are going HOME!! I smoothied it over and we cot her acclimated to her new home,, spent hours filling out papers and unpacking.. I already have a 16 1/2 hour day put in and still ahv ealundry to do before beditme..
maybe tomorrow I can relacx afte rwork,,,

I am so glad that everything worked out and that she is settled. It was stupid of them telling her that she was going home, though! I can understand how that can be confusing for the patients. Not very professional of them at all!

I know your mother has been weighing on your mind, and your shoulders. . .
Hopefully, she will acclimate to her new surroundings. Maybe you can relax a little bit also.
