It is supposed to be rainy all weekend, of course:my two days off. I hope to get out and pick more berries, SHOVEL the little helicoptor thingies on the deck from that horrible maple tree hanging over it, then sweep it, put gardening things away for the winter,,
we are going to keep the grill out on the deck for little while longer, then it comes into the garage for the winter,, we also need to cover the big picnic table on the patio, etc.
I miss the pool so much, BUT it was so nice NOT to have to close it this year,, for the first time since 1988, we were spared that job. Linda's Law dictated that, instead, we bailed water out of the basement,, total irony...
that shop vac and dehumidifier have been going full-time for a month...

Even though you miss your pool you can always go to a pool for therapy and exercises and luckily some ahve a hot tub. Yours is always better though.

Linda we spent on our pool this year, a lot for 5 weeks of our grands and it was worth it to have them here with us so long. Should anything happen to their parents we need to be bonded enough to look after them. Family is very important and their medication needs are significant. The pool will stay and we shall see if it as bad as this year to open. We invested in a pool filter vacuum, and it has been worth that too, it kept it clean so it looked better. Taking out and filling in will be another financial challenge but the sons and grand kids have all enjoyed it and I did too when i could tolerate cold water.

OUR basement was never wet till a highly recommended plumber messed with the yard and dug up all the blue clay for nothing except we had to pay him thousands of dollars another young plumber walked in to the housed and IMMEDIATELY saw the roof vent pipe had NEVER been secured and as it slid down water accumulated so we had no vent pipe for most of the year.

Now we have a sump pump in the floor and we ere lucky enough to have a storm drain in the street We are able to connect to the storm drain for the roof run off and also the sump pump. It is not longer completely dry but if it really a hard winter we will get some in coming up through the drain.
I can imagine the electricity you use we used to do that all spring long. We too have rain here for the weekend. HUGS pat in Maine I will need to subscribe yet again to a number of people I have been missing like you. Sorry I missed them HUGS PAT in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Trying to drink more water today,, get the tissues flushed out..

Time has gotten away from me in the past twelve months.. I got postcard reminders for an eye exam, mammogram and furnace checkup!! Did I climb into a time warp? I was positive I had my mammogram about six months ago!! You do not forget something as wonderful as that slam-o-gram.

I have also noticed that I am not able to remember numerical things like schedules, dates, tiem frames. I do all I can to play memory games like suggested in AARP, but this fibro seems to have latched no to the weakest part of my anatomy:brain tissue.. God help those around me from now on.. I work so hard to make lists, remember things, but this disease seems to sink in there and suck the memory out of me,, I cannot imagine what it will be like for those around me if I get dementia like both my parents..

Water is good to keep the brain hydrated, also.

I'm sorry to hear about the memory problems. Hope things get better and water should definitely help to flush out those toxins.

Yes, I keep a jug of water by me at all times. It's handy.

I also have double (quadruple actually) indemnity for Alzheimer's. As far as I can tell, (having cared for both parents), I'm somewhere between stages 3 & 4 just now. Plans for the future are emerging. I keep a notebook by me at all times, and make use of Google Calendar. It sends me email reminders of appointments.

It's good you're flushing those toxins out of your system as well as other things.

Could it be related to menopause? That would be very common. Sudoku and word games are the best for memory function.

HOme from work,,

Lot s of cardio getting boxes filled, laundry, got to do some yard work,, picking berries for freezer. That is the extent of my preserving this year unless I decide to make zucchini relish or green tomato jam.
