Today was a short workday, but we hit the road to run yet more errands after work.
First stop hauling another load to dad's house for sale,,then on to credit union for deposits, onward and upward to ALdi for fresh melons and my mozzarella cheese sticks.. Nothing stops a reaction better than that, one 50 calorie stick..
across the parking lot to the store to buy DD anew pair of shorts,, I handed down most of mine to her, she has worn them threadbare too..
next stop a couple miles down the road to the nursery to pay the balance on my landscaping bill.
Back home to pay bills, start packing foods and toiletries for trip, checking off on list I made.
One and a half weeks left and I still have to make a car checkup appointment and take car to get tires checked this Saturday morning when the store opens,, hair appointment,,etc..
by the time I leave, I am way overdue for the vacation.. Nice thing this year,,DD helping to drive,, I have not seen the scenery in over twenty five years without stopping the car..

what brand are the cheese sticks? 50 calories is darn good deal.

What size shorts does DD wear? I have some but it's always too cold to wear them.

18 days to go..

Sunday, July 29, 2012

Another beautiful summer day here, still humid, but only in mid 89 degree range,,
DD and I went to a neighbor's bridal shower, I was a good girl there too,, they had choices of chicken salad or ham or turkey sandwiches.. I chose the latter,, no dessert, but fresh fruit spears, bottled water instead of any punch or pop. No snacks or pastries either..

I hope everybody is having a nice weekend,, better weather and time with family and friends..

I was not very good last night,, I was very hungry to the point of being sick to my stomach, and had sherbet, banana, and an egg sandwich throughout the course of the hours between 5-10 P.M. I ate when I came home from work at noonish, so was very hungry when we returned from our errands.. Oh, I DID have a very small apple to try to get me through the evening, but I apparently burned more calories at work than I anticipated, thus making my tummy bear growl to beat the band.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda and if.. biggest words in the world.. IF i had stopped to think, I would have spaced things differently,,
Well, I didn't kill anybody, just let my brains sleep for awhile,, today I am going to be more conscious of this pattern I seem to be getting into and just being lazy, I guess..

Ah, well! Today is another day! Just add a protein with the fruit snack, nuts, cheese, etc. Proteins kill cravings and keep your blood sugar more even, so that you don't get ravenously hungry. Try it! emoticon

I started to take emergency food with me to avoid mental fog and the ensuing decisions.

It sounds like you did ok and you have a great attitude. Way to go Pickie... emoticon

Wish I could actually do that sometimes. Fried egg sandwiches yummmm but i just can't. that's the band working on me. Bread doesn't go down well.
Sherbert spikes my BS.

Bet you felt better after eating that though.

Try eating smaller meals more often during the day. Your blood sugar is probably spiking and then dropping too much and your body needs the nutrition on a steady basis all day. That will prevent this kind of food craving. Focus on protein also when you get like that. emoticon

20 days to go!

Friday, July 27, 2012

We have had another thunderstorm here,, in the high 80's,, 100% humidity..

Gully-washers of rain here,, it is darker than when I left for work at 4:30 this morning!!

i have the daily schedule at the ready until we leave.. today was sandal and clothing shopping after work,, DD got a few tops, some new sport bras, sandals.
I got new undies, tops. We left that store and stopped to pick up one of my Rx's, then to the pumps to fill-er-up! At Krogers, we get rewards for money we spend on my credit card and in-store, SO we got 40 cents off per gallon,, HOWEVER, I still heated my card up because the gas was $3.13/gal after discount. The gas limit at that price is 35 gallons, so we filled my tank, then we fill five 5-gallon cans and two 2-gallon cans.

The great news came just as we were preparing to go out the door ..
I got a phone call form my health insurance company. Included in my insurance costs, is highly discounted Rx mail-order service!!
It took about fifteen minutes of info to the very nice lady on the other end. the result is that now, instead of paying $$ every month for Rx's,, I will save 2/3 of the money, the meds are shipped directly to me, auto-pay on my points visa card, earning me points every time,, AND I will save $240 a year just for the Rx's I have now...
No calling in for refills, no going into Krogers and picking it up,, also, I will get a 90 day supply instead of 30 days.. less hassle!!
So, being the tightwad(polite word is thrifty) I am, I will automatically put that $$ I save, into the credit union for a rainy day.. what a nice day... I am happy right now..

I hope all of you have a healthy and happy weekend,, treat it like it is your last,,

You deserve to rest and relax and get some great zzzzz tonight. So glad that everything is falling into place according to your schedule. We had thunderstorms last night and just had another hellacious one go through. Trees bending almost to the ground and the rain swirling sideways. Couldn't see across the street.
Your countdown continues...
