God's dandruff!

Saturday, January 15, 2011

We are in the throes of yet another snowstorm!! We got the whole driveway an sidewalk shoveled last night, we got another six inches of snow over night!! I live at the end of our cul-de-sac and guess where all of it gets plowed??
I think I heard yodelers on top of that mountain of snow next to my mailbox last night!!! WTH???? Are those nanny goats on that Alp-like pile of snow??

Time to strap on the old snowshoes and fill the bird feeder and go to get more provisions.. yes, I said provisions,, that is how you survive in the wilderness of unending snow...

I love to watch the snow and the great big flakes falling. But after shoveling for days, I am ready for it to stop. Stay stay, keep warm and happy provisions shopping!!!

Hallelujah, we have some sunshine and NO NEW SNOW today. I'm taking advantage by hauling out the laundry and trying to get it done before the sun changes its mind!

I used to hate the three or four foot high pile of mush at the end of our driveway, where the snow was wet, plowed in the night, and frozen by morning. I can't imagine getting a whole street full piled up there. You need to talk to the street department. Good luck.

PICKIE we are the very end of the cul-de-sac too. They come up the street and used to push it right on to our property. Our neighbours got very little. I went to the superintendant and asked why do we get it all. He came over to the house he took a look at the situation and now everyone gets some snow and we get less.

The reason this happend to me was the massive pile. Our driveway became longer to remove snow from. I found myself blowing it from the middle of the road. Then the kids were using sleds on it. I backed out of my driveway and 2 girls on a sled were sliding down it. I slammed on my brakes and the girls rolled off and the sled went under the car. I went to the police and told them there was a safety hazard. As soon as they saw it they made the city move it away that year. As it began to accumulate the next year I spoke to the supervisor and we had a fair resolution.

You have that right LINDA, no need for negative conversation, there is enough negative out there so we have to stay positive as long as we can.

HUGS , hope you are warmer today.
We had 15 inches yesterday and it was a blizzard. Today our streets are all cleared for us. DH and I did 3 driveways, ours and the neighbors. She works nights so we did it for her. GOOD cardio for us. HUGS Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

For all the people who need our thoughts, prayers, who struggle with their health concerns, or others health, for those who feel despair, those who are alone, I pray for all of them, knowing they will get their needs met, not on their timetable.. Feeling grateful for my warm robe, home, nice car, medicines, and food,, we are all a meal, a paycheck, a crisis away from losing things we cherish,,, be grateful for what He has allowed you to have!

Never a dull moment: got a call from the water department last evening: a water main burst two houses away, and they had to shut the water off today,, what a mess, but fortunately, I was at work for the whole thing,, neighbors next door have a mud/ice pit in their front yard!!

Last night I dreamed that I was at The Grand Floridian basking away in their spa, being massaged by Vito, the magic-fingered Italian masseusse, when the power went out, water got shut off, Vito ran screaming like a girl, out of the spa, leaving me there with my (pride) hangng out,,
Big handsome guy runs in, whisks me off to the private sauna, starts massaging my feet, whispering sweet nothings in my ear, and all I heard was.......................................
BUZZZZZZZZZZ!!BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! Alarm clock blaring in my ear!! Four A.M.!! Time to get up and ready for work!!
On a brighter note, it DID get p to 29 degrees today, so that was really close to that sauna!!!
