I needed to take photos of my artwork, to send to my professor (from last summer's class, I've been procrastinating). I put the expanded memory into the digital camera, and it wouldn't turn on. I changed the batteries. It wouldn't turn on. I took the memory card out. Camera turned on briefly, took a few photos, and then froze. Off. Wouldn't turn on, wouldn't pretend it was alive. Dead camera.
My film camera needs a new battery. My camera with the special macro lens for photographing artwork also needs a new battery.
I went to Office Max, and gave up and just bought a new (but VERY cool) digital camera, with extra memory, has a built in macro capability, 5x zoom, etc etc. That was $200 I hadn't planned to spend. On the other hand, now I won't need batteries for the other two film cameras. I won't have to buy film or pay for developing. Which is all good for the upcoming trip, and trips in the future.
And the camera took GREAT pics of the artwork, and was fabulous for the details. (How many digital cameras can take clear pics from just a few inches away?)
The other good news is that I wasn't even tempted to eat!!!!!!!!!
A year or two ago, this would have been a reason to go for some chocolate ice cream.
Today, I dealt with the problem, solved it, did the work, and ate healthful stuff.
WHAT an accomplishment!!!!!!!!!!!
