Never Quit Pledge

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Today, I promise I will not quit.

I pledge that no matter, how many ups and downs I pass through, I will continue on my journey.

I pledge to make a NEW START today, and forgive myself for my past, and to stop being so critical of myself.

I pledge to take control of myself, to stop making excuses, and stop blaming other people or situations.

I pledge to treat myself as I would my best friend, because that is who I am.

I pledge to stay in the race and to be a WINNER!

Be careful who your friends are.

Monday, July 29, 2013

I thought I had made a friend. She seemed interested in me and my family. We worked out together. Our grandkids played together and were in the same kindergarten class. Things changed though. She started putting people down. Trashing them to their faces and talking about them behind their backs. This was not a healthy relationship. Although she appeared to like me, she was lying to my face for over a year. The end to the friendship was necessary. I feel relief, but also a bit of fear. She is vengeful, vindictive and downright evil. I do not talk to her, she sent me a nasty text. I love her daughter in law and her granddaughter. She will be moving out of her DIL 's house within a month and I will regain my sanity. I say farewell and good riddance. Please note, I do not dislike many people, but toxic relationships are not good for your health and well being. I am better off and so is the neighborhood.

Has the former friend moved? I do hope so, and when reading this (admittedly, late; sorry!!), that one question stands before all others!

Isn't it amazing how many people waste the little time we have on this earth trying to make other lives unpleasant? I just don't understand that way of thinking, but hope that you are free of the burden of false friendship and that your worries about reprecussions prove unfounded!

So sorry you had to go through that! I do know how you feel, a co-worker who later became my supervisor was an evil person. I knew she wasn't very nice but not until I was trying to 'bounce' back from cancer did I know how completely evil she was. I lost my job (20 years) over her but I am so much happier now. It took 2 years for me to work through it, but I am SOOO HAPPY!

Some people just seemed to be damaged and this is the only way they can relate to the world. I feel sorry for her, but you can't change her -- you just need to protect yourself. I would do the same thing you did.

Our media gives us lots of examples of how to end romantic relationships and marriages but few examples of how to end dysfunctional friendships. It's hard, especially for women. The stress of it will pass. Hang in there, you did the right thing.

You did the very best thing that you could ever do in leaving her alone! Those kind of people love to sabotage everyone, cut them down and do them in and it is awesome of you to see that before it happened to you! I swear, those kind of people all need to be shipped to some island where it isnt possible for them to get off and just berate each other til they are tired! LOL

Good for you! Im sure her DIL will be glad for her to be gone as well!

Always take care of YOU! Great friends will come along in time. emoticon

I watched the Nathan's national hotdog competition today from Coney Island. The winner, Joey Chestnut consumed 69 hotdogs and buns in 10 minutes. They call these guys athletes. How can indulging in binging be considered a sport. How sad is that?

Almost done.

Thursday, June 20, 2013

I watch my grandsons during the school year.

I made all of my doctor's appointments for summer break.

After a week at the beach, I had my first appointment for my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure. Blood pressure 160/62. Doctor took me off diaretics. Blood sugar Alc 5.6, no longer considered pre diabetic. Cholesterol below 200. Another victory.

Next it was the eye doctor. No changes in vision, new glasses optional. Whew.

This Monday it was the dentist. I told of my 2 prior bouts with jaw pain. An x-ray showed that I needed a root canal.

Wednesday, had the root canal. No pain during or after. Whoopee.

Today I had to make up for no exercise yesterday. Swimming, lawn mowing and zumba.
Back to normal (except for the crown I have to get in 2 weeks.

    You watch them.

Watch them do what?

That's the joke at our house. Once our 13-year ol daughter was tasked with watching the baby while we went out to a viewing. While we were getting ready to go, she gave him supper. He began to choke on his food and she did nothing. I nearly knocked her over to get to him to help him and she got angry.

"Geez, Daddy, you have four minutes."

So the joke became "Watch the baby. Do not watch him choke. Do not watch him fall down the stairs. Do not watch him go out into the street. Watch him and interfere if he gets into trouble. Do. You. Understand.?"

"So, um, watch him do what?"
