Revised Plan for Today

Saturday, April 10, 2010

I got up at 5:30 as planned. Yuck I know. I did 25 minutes of exercise. I am told we'll be eating out, and I don't have enough bread for sandwiches. So my plan is as followed.

Print off desk exercises from here to do while I'm there.
Walk as much as I can and drink water as much as I can.
Bring along healthy snacks that will fill me up.

My Abs hurt from yesterday's workout, I'm skipping my planned strengthening exercises today. If I get some other in I'll be happy otherwise I'm ok without getting it in. I got Cardio done this morning and hope to get some more in through out the day little by little.

Great Workout today

Friday, April 09, 2010

I pushed myself today. I did my strengthening exercises since it's only 10 minutes. I also put in an hour in on the Wii Fit plus.

Tomorrow is going to be a very busy day. I have a Skywarn Workshop to go to where I get to learn about Tornado's and other severe weather. After that all day workshop, We have the Roller Derby Bout to go to. I hope to bring a packed lunch and plenty of water. I also hope at the workshop there will be plenty of breaks, so I can use the restroom if I'm drinking plenty of water. I also would like to get in some walking during the breaks instead of just sitting around in the room where we will be.

Have a good weekend everyone I know mine will be interesting and fun.

OMFG! I can't believe I did it. I took my bike out today first time in a couple of years. I went 4.14 miles on it. My thighs will feel it tomorrow I'm sure. It was a bit chilly, but I pulled through. Not to mention the incline on the way home. I did have to stop a couple of times, but I refused to just walk my bike up the hill, I made sure I rode it up even if it meant I would have to stop a couple of times until I was back on the flat route part. I'm glad I pushed it. The sad thing is I'm sadden that with all that hard work the calories burned was lower than I expected. emoticon

The exercise alone is still wonderful weather the calorie count is low or not. I'm sure you were building muscle and thats always a good thing, and biking is fun eventually it pays off.
Enjoy and have a great time.

Having a difficult time

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

I'm going on week two here where it's hard and harder to exercise and eat correctly. No matter how much I know I should exercise I'm finding it hard to do with time. Exercise or look for a job? It's getting harder to prioritize.

Sorry you are having a difficult time. I find exercise helps me a lot mentally. Stock your refrigerator with fresh fruit and veggies so you have something healthy to munch on. I work Sat until 5p.m. but if you want to get together afterwards to go for a walk at lake Calhoun or something give me a call. Hang in there. I know you can do it.

i know how hard it is. It has happen to me too. but i find it helpful to do 15-20 mins of some exercise first thing in the morning even before bryshing my teeth (oops did i say that out loud). that way i have done something dont think about it too much.. all the best with job hunt.

I agree that walking to interviews will help. Also, while on a phone interview you can stand and do some leg exercises...some activity everyday will add up.

I'm only working part-time as well so I know the frustration as well. Walking can help your mood which helps your attitude in job interviews. Depending on what you are looking for, walking near or at some of the malls can give job insights. I've seen help wanted ads posted on boards near businesses and called. Sometimes I pass the info on to someone else who will help me with job tips. I've had 2 brothers and a sister get better jobs on tips I gave them (I wasn't qualified for any of them). At least it helped someone! The one brother does help me now and then so I can't feel bad about him getting a job when I didn't. He has helped increase my hours with this company - still not full-time but a little more money.

You might find little sessions work better for you. Fit in multiple 15 or 20 minute sessions. They'll add up.

Sometimes, once you get started, you won't want to stop.

Good luck with the job hunt. I was laid off not long ago and I'm only working part-time right now, so I know how tough it can be.

Ruby Tuesday

Tuesday, April 06, 2010

I went out to Ruby Tuesday's today. I ate very healthy and after entering in the data of what I ate. I was still in range. Ruby Tuesday's has their nutrition facts online for their current menu. This is very helpful.

It would be great if they all did. I also carry around Calorie King book so I can at least estimate and if eating out was going to be a spur of the moment thing. I have Sparkpeople on my phone as well so I have an idea where I stand. Usually I plan a head of time if I'm going to eat out by looking. I do wish all restaurants had their info online. I figure for a while at least I'm going to have to eat out this way if they have nutrition facts or if I can find enough on their menu and other sites have the info I need.
