Tonight D and I went to the Rollerdome now that it is reopened, and I had some skates. We also had a BOGO coupon for tonight. My good friend and jeerleader Goldie Luxe came along too.
I went around 10x with very little stopping, mostly if stopping to catch my breath, and hydrate. (oh and to stretch) It is 2.5x around the concourse to equal a mile, so I got in 4 miles. Talk about some cardio. I got some pointers from Goldies friend who is or was a Minnesota Roller Girl, and another (skater in training) she is a medic at the bouts. So I learned out to do a T stop, but have yet to do it, I need some knee pads for that. and how to exert less energy and to push off with both feet. BALANCE!! is a huge key, and less arm movements. I have a lot to work on, but I can't wait, until I can do more and get around more times. I can't wait to go again, I hope soon. I had a lot of fun, and I want to keep practicing.
By moving my arms more, I exert more energy and have less balance.

This is a picture of the Metrodome currently. We are able to skate on the concourse, that isn't part of the dome part.

Last night, I received an awesome gift from my friends who are part of the Roller derby universe. We might only be jeerleaders, but that doesn't matter. They still have connections, with derby girls. They got me a pair of quads (roller skates) Which is wonderful, because I was like the only one who didn't have any, that was part of the group. They took months in acquiring it all from the skates to the bearings and the wheels will be coming soon enough. There are some for me, but they are still in a roller girls car. Goldie Luxe and Black Pearl hunted down through the ranks of the Minnesota Roller Girls and the Northstar Roller Girls to get me theses.
The plan is since the Roller Dome reopened this weekend, to go tomorrow, and I can try out the new-used skates. (I'll be borrowing Goldie's outdoor wheels until I get mine from Mama Crash)
Last nights bout where I received my awesome gift was a Speakeasy theme which explains what I am wearing, and why.
As you can see I was so HAPPY for my newused rollerskates!

I didn't gain, and I didn't lose, but at least I maintained. honestly that is good enough for me. I have no reason to regret or be upset about it. At least I maintained and didn't go in the wrong direction.

I've been at this again for a week. I've lost a pound, and I've not drank pop all week, got my water in, only had 1 night where I couldn't sleep, and I've exercised 4 days this week.
I hope to sleep tonight since I have a job interview in the morning.

When is a good time to exercise? Some people on the message boards say, AM, I'm not a morning person. I can get up for a job or if I have to go some place, but if I'm staying home, then I don't care, because my bed is just in the other room. Some say, exercise when you can.
Everything else I find is always conflicting so I don't know what to do. I'm also embarrassed to exercise in front of my boyfriend, who is usually watching TV. We usually toss the remote back and forth, and I'm able to watch most of my shows. It is just exercising in front of him is just embarrassing.
So tonight I exercised at 10:45-11:15. I know I should be on a regular schedule going to sleep, waking up exercising all about the same time. Idea's that can implement would be wonderful.
