This heat has got to leave. I find nothing is getting done, and the jeans that were a size 12 today, started to feel very tight. Water? possibly, I could get them on still. of course due to the heat jeans weren't worn. I have so much to do around this apartment, including exercising. I did some earlier this week basically but now it's Wednesday, and I've taken 2 showers today, just to cool down. I don't even want to cook, so I had Subway today. I hope soon that this heat wave disappears and I can get back to doing things, and not feeling so ICKY.
I've been recruited to be a Jeerleader for the Northstar Roller Girls, (roller derby) it's basically a cheerleader but we do other things. It should be fun.

D and I went to his family cabin Sunday morning. I couldn't believe all the animals and their unique behaviors I saw. I saw a Loon protecting it's young from a jet skier. 6 Osprey, communicating with itself, and holding a fish with no head, and a pilated woodpecker (3 actually) and a turtle, and muskrat. A Bald Eagle go after food in the water, and an Osprey attack a Bald Eagle. I mean it was just some awesome sights, I saw in just over 24 hours. We saw the osprey when out on a walk, and some of the Loon behavior when we were out paddle boating. People wonder why I won't leave Minnesota, those reasons are above besides family, and such. Minnesota has so much to offer when you are not looking, or when you are looking. Just going out to do a few little exercises lead to some exciting picture taking, and just amazement. The picture I got of the Bald Eagle, as it came up from it's 2nd dive. Too bad it was facing the wrong way.

How else would you spend the last day of a month? Well I spent it with great friends. We started early early in the morning, Derek and I left at 1am to get everyone and head up North. We spent Sunrise up at Split Rock Lighthouse.
We then headed to Gooseberry Falls. This is the first time in all my time going up there, that we were there and we were the only ones there. Every picture we had taken of the falls, had NO one in it. ( This isn't including the ones from the Winter when the falls are frozen)
After Gooseberry, and breakfast we headed to Duluth for TALL SHIPS!!!
I didn't go on the ships but 2 of us did. Derek and I walked around and hung out in Duluth, it was cheaper and was less crowded.
Derek and I watched as the Arthur M. Anderson Ore boat came in to port.
This ore boat is famous for being the last ship to have contact with the Edmund Fitzgerald; before it went down in Lake Superior.
Afterwards Derek and walked the Canal park boardwalk to Fitgers, and then we went downtown back to the Canal park. Relaxed until we met back up with the other 2 for some Canal Park fun. Ok we basically just waded in Lake Superior and rocked collected.
After all that we went to a friends BBQ for a couple of hours, before heading back and catching up with all the missed sleep we had so we could hit Duluth for the Day. That is how I spent July 31st. I got in a lot of walking, and I ate pretty well.
Today starts the return to a regular life, and that is all good with me!

Thought I would share this adorable pictures of Griffin as he slept.

I can't believe it this week has finally ended. It's been a long week of hot weather, lack of sleep and an extra appendage. That appendage is my moms dog Griffin. I love Griffin, and had no problem saying I'd watch him this week while my parents were in Lincoln Nebraska. First let me say this. Will I watch him again? Of course I will. He was mostly a great dog, and I adore him. It was nice having an animal sleep on the bed with you, it's so cute because he uses the pillow, lays on his back and his little paws, stick out of the sheet. The cat however didnt' care for this house guest, and showed us, by peeing, on the floor, or right next to his litter box. He ignored Griffin, and Griffin ignored Sprite, so they got along, we even managed to get them in photo's together next to each other like touching. It's cute. The downside to all this, was I didn't sleep as well, and not just because of Griffin, but because D turns the a/c off at night, and it gets muggy and warm when we are sleeping so I can't sleep as well. Plus Griff and him produce so much heat, come winter I don't need the heat on. I also didn't want to wake up with Griffin accidents so I was sleeping lighter so if he got up, I would be able to catch him and get him outside before an accident occurred in the apartment. All in all it worked but left me tired and living in an apartment is hard to do when you want to take a long nap with kids at the pool, and neighbors above you, you pretty much hear everything.
So, Griffin goes home, and life returns to normal today, I work later this evening, and so does D so this time no dog barking and whining for me and us getting in trouble for having a dog that broke ordinance, let alone not suppose to be here. We keep to our selves, and not cause trouble so it's not like management was looking at us to know we had a dog in the apartment, ( we live in the pet building so it wasn't unusual that there was a dog) Griff was my buddy this week. Even D liked having him here. Last night when it was storming, and Griffin was barking like he needed to protect, us D held him and petted him until he calmed down, and just laid down to sleep. It was cute.
So the week went long in a way, and it's ending thankfully, and yesterday I forgot to even log in to sparkpeople and I lost my spin the wheel streak =( Oh well that's life.
Tomorrow is Sunday and the beginning of a new week and I'm giving myself a challenge. I have yet to think of one, and I'm willing to take suggestions. I'll announce it tomorrow.
