They were falling off!

Saturday, May 22, 2010

I put on a pair of pajama pants, and they were falling off. The waist on the clothing was too big. Wonderful results I like to see. and I know everyone else does too. Can't wait for other things to start falling off of me.

End of week update

Friday, May 21, 2010

I still have no idea on a job. The PCA place just started yesterday calling my references that weren't previous jobs. It's just a pain waiting, because the job is mine already that isn't the issue. T-mobile didn't pan out, the interview wasn't really an interview and I think it was unfair for the 1st round. Oh well because it would have been great to work there with the perks and benefits even to part time employees.

My stitches are beginning to itch but no sign of infection or anything like that. So that is good. I did a little bit of exercise that required climbing and even though it was upper body strength needed, I felt it but was careful and all is still good. 1 week and they can come out.

Derek wanted a pair of hiking shoes so we went to a few stores today. He took my advice and we went to Dicks Sporting and he found a pair of shoes he liked and he bought me a new pedometer to replace my lost one. I do have a sweet boyfriend who is supportive of me and this new lifestyle I'm working on. Now that I have a pedometer I can go back to tracking my steps for the day =)

I found this new water bottle online from the makers of the pedometer and I want it. It has hydration reminders and it looks easy to carry around. I found out how much water I should really be drinking on a daily basis I'm only about 2 or 3 cups lower but I'm going to work on drinking the 11 or 12 daily instead of 8 or 9.

My weekly weigh went up 2lbs but that could be water weight and not being able to exercise as much so I'm not too disappointed.

I can honestly say that my weightloss improved when I tried to get my pedometer to read 10,000 steps. I rarely make it but the extra effort has increased my calorie burn. I love my pedometer, I bought one that counts calories and miles and its off by over 1/2 of the old one. I'm pretty sure my 'Omron' is accurate. so I'm sticking with it. I guess they are just like scales some work better than others. Best of luck with the job hunting. The right one will come its just a matter of time.

Yesterday's "so called" workout

Wednesday, May 19, 2010

Yesterday was gorgeous, I thought I would go for a bike ride. As I was bringing my bike out, I had a misstep and fell over my bike. I cut my ankle and ended up not working out but going to Urgent Care instead. I went for a couple of reasons, I was alone, and I couldn't get it cleaned out, and I wasn't sure it needed stitches or not. I've never had stitches so I had a hard time determining it. I've had worse cuts and probably should have had stitches but they were in area's I could keep clean. But since I couldn't get all the grease out of my wound I needed professional help. I wound up having 8 stitches in one of the gashes and they thought 1 or 2 other stitches in another, but after cleaning it out they decided it wasn't necessary. As I said I've never had stitches I usually tend to break bones instead. I need to stay away from over using my leg/ankle/foot until Thursday or Friday, so only upper body strengthening until I can use it better. I've needed pain killers when there are some pressure on it, so no crossing my legs where it hits the ground. Sleeping was fun but I managed. Adventure is always one thing I get when I try and so some fun.

Man, so sorry to hear about your "work out". Hopefully not all bikerideswill end in Urgent Care. Take care of yourself and rest - you can exercise next week!!

OH my gosh! That sounds terrifying. I flew over the handle bars once and I know it hurts bad. I am glad you are okay and taking pain killers. I can't believe you are still considering upper body too in the interim. You are quite the warrior. Take care and take it easy. XO

Step to it Challenge in MN

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

So, while searching for things to do in Plymouth, MN I came across a 4 week challenge that the City of Plymouth is participating in. It started yesterday, so I thought why not and signed up. It's easy it's like here you record your exercise and fitness or steps. Except it's for the City and other Cities in Hennepin County. It's called Step to it.
I figured since, I am doing it for myself, this is just another site to enter stuff in and show that the City of Plymouth has people participating and staying fit. Walking, biking, yoga, cleaning the house, gardening all that can be used to count. So, if you are interested sign up, it only started yesterday!

Jillian Michaels Challenge from Twitter.

Monday, May 17, 2010

I follow her on twitter, and one of her challenges for the week is NOT to say anything negative about yourself this week. Examples would be, I look fat, or I feel ugly. You get the point, when it comes to things one can say that is negative about oneself. So, I'm taking her challenge for the week, and I invite you too join it on here.

Weekly challenge: for the entire week say NOTHING negative about yourself. If you start to stop yourself and then say something positive about yourself.
