April in review

It's that time for me, where I start really reflecting on what went right and what may not have gone as well this past month. I'm a few day's early but it's on my mind so I'm going to blog it. I can always add more another day if necessary.

This month I lost a few more lbs.
~broke a plateau
~tried new foods
~started going a bit more greener, and eating organic when we can afford it.
~moved out of my uncles and in with my boyfriend (officially)

What could have gone better
~I didn't exercise as much as March I made weekly goals but I should have tried harder I think
~I could have ate better on some days
~I caved and started drinking pop again and quit and started again.. trying to quit again
~slept better but that is more of other issues and ones I can't always control
~ not always as positive as I'd like to be

So here is to May where I am going to work harder on the what could have gone better and keep dropping those pounds

You are doing great! You broke the plateau, something I wish I could do, and you see how the changes are affecting you. Keep moving forward. Every step you take forward is a step in the right direction. We would not be human if we did not stumble a time or two. The true test is those, like you, who do not give up, but pick themselves up and keep on going. I am proud of you and proud to call you friend. keep up the good work.

I would be so proud regardless of what could have gone better. You even broke a plateau this month! That is so great! For me I think it is so much easier to stick with something if I allow myself to slip up now and then, perfection is just so tiresome ;)

And way to go on greening your life! Small measures add up. emoticon

Clean plate club, this was always drilled in our head growing up. Now I'm trying to join the not clean plate club, or take what you can eat. Um yeah you do know that part can be hard. Tonight for dinner, a stuffed pork chop, brown rice, and I added Broccoli. I ate the Broccoli, and rice no problem, when I attempted to start eating the stuffed pork chop I started to feel full. By habit I started to eat more of it because of CPC. I shortly realized STOP! what are you doing, if you're full stop eating. You're an adult you don't have to have a clean plate anymore. So I asked D if he wanted the rest of course he ate it after I told him it really was because I was FULL and not that I didn't like it. The stuff pork chop was from Trader Joes.. and rather healthier than I thought. It's a winner for another night

@Nurskell09 I pray I don't drill that in with my kids. I'd rather they go back for 2nd because I didn't give them enough the first time.
@Jryvoan Yeah I don't always have the will power, but it's great when I realize and do something about it.
@Dawnhartley37 I have that same issue, but I'd rather listen to my body then what recommendations are given. It's better than going over and in the end I find things work out during the week anyway.

There is one problem I always have with being full. I can't seem to get all my calories in for the day. What is up with that!

Congrats! I wish I had the willpower to do that. My dad has been calling me and inviting me over to dinner after work on my weekends that I work at the hospital because he knows I don't fix food when I get home and I should just head to the house because I don't eat because I'm not hungry, but I usually go over there and stuff myself.

What a good realization! I was a member of the clean plate club growing up. I have tried my hardest not to do the same thing to my son!

This week, I'm going to work on my quality of sleep. I've lately fallen into staying up to late and napping during the day even if I slept in late. So, this week bedtime 10pm no later and up between 5:30-7. My body tends to wake up around 5:30 for a little bit and it gets to me. So instead of it getting to me, I'm going to make the most of it. I'll read devotions, eat breakfast exercise. If come the afternoon and I need a nap no longer than 45 minutes will be allowed. Since I don't have a job at the moment this is a goal I feel can be done.

I can officially start this today because I got up at 5:45am because I used the facilities and I was hungry, and thirsty. I ate pancakes and 2 cups of water. I even took a picture of dawn as the sun rose in the East.

If I sleep through such a beautiful, and peaceful part of the day one can't be inspired. Especially if it's my sparkpage moto It's a Brand new Day!

It's a Brand new week

Sunday, April 25, 2010

Yep, it's a new week and a new week where I'm going to be positive, exercise and eat right. I'm going to be proud of every small accomplishment I complete and be satisfied with that. I'm going to take my own advice I dish out to everyone else and take it with small strides.

Yesterday was officially D and my 6month anniversary as a couple and I'm darn proud of that. Today is the annual spaghetti dinner at my grandparents and I get to see the whole family. That's just the tip of the week of great things. Other great things are to come!

I've changed my offical weigh in day to Friday's because over the weekend when it might be hard to stay on track a bit, Monday's can be very disappointing and make my week difficult to stay motivated so I put it at the end of the week, and I find it easier to see results.

Have a good week everybody!

Yes i've planned for the spaghetti dinner. I never eat too much because well the sauce is usually too spicy for me. (it's homemade) my mom is bring a salad for her and I to eat (she is on sparkpeople as well) and yeah it's all planned.

Yeah the Friday has helped a bit with trying to keep it going since there were minor results. Monday's just got too depressing.

Sounds like you have a good weekend planned. Have fun, but remember pasta is around 200 calories per cup (without the sauce) so plan for it!

I think thats a good idea about changing the weigh in day to Friday. I should do the same thing, I always weigh in on Mondays, and after this weekend,I don't even want to see the results. emoticon

The other day, when I was cleaning down in the basement allergies did a number on me. dust is the enemy.. I was in the basement yesterday grabbing a few other items. I can't wait until it's done. So the Lilics that are appearing are my only enemy. I just keep taking allergy meds and hope for the best.
