Workout for today: finished. Decided against doing the www.dailyhiit.com HiitRep thing (4 minutes of these wall exercises ... my arms hurt 60 seconds in).
But, did do a Spark video for cardio and toning which was pretty great.

This is the payoff when you work on push-ups, some weight training, and chin ups. Check out my guns, y'all! Tank-top season had better watch out.
If any of you girls out there think training your muscles will make you look too masculine, just let me say strength-training has changed my life for the better. It's easier to keep my weight managed, my arms are actually smaller than they were before I started, and it just plain feels good to know you are getting stronger.
Think about adding at least some weight to your workout. Just a little.

I believe in resting when you need it, but I do *not* believe in excuses.
My husband is sick, and I have felt the start of a scratchy throat all morning. For an hour I sat on the couch, just 'resting' because I know I'm about to get sick. All the while thinking, 'guess I shouldn't work out today. I'm getting sick.'
Then the absurdity of it hit me. It was my last chance to at least get a little bit of HEALTHY activity in before I actually was overcome by some nasty little bug that had me truly couch-bound for 48 hours.
Just did my workout:
16 minutes and 4 seconds later, almost all my energy is back. The scratch in my throat has receded to a tickle.
I'm not saying 'push through it' if you're sick, I'm just admitting that sometimes the blahs are just an excuse. And you will only be as healthy as you help yourself to be. Eat well and treat yourself right, even when you're feeling a tad sorry for yourself -- it pays off.

Okay - I didn't have the equipment for "Wind Shield Wiper Pull ups", and the workout was challenging enough that I didn't replace it.
Man Eater (in rd 2 this became weight squat + burpees!) 3 rds of 15 w/ 5lbs
Wide Grip Push Up - 3 rnds of 15 modified
Low Squat Press - 3 rds of 15 with 3 lbs (1st round was 5 lbs - ouch!)
3 Point Back Rows - 3 rds of 15 with 3 lbs
This is the sweatest freaking workout for me. Finished in 16 minutes and 15 seconds. I feel so out of shape!

I don't feel this was my best workout. There was a bit of a dehydrated feeling, and I could not get my mind past the exhaustion in my legs after the first set of squat jumps. I lazed out of many of these.
Still, I saw it through, and that's a start.

In the spirit of tracking and being honest with myself: I'm not going to work out today. I might do some short stretching or yoga when I get home, but the plan for tonight is to do dinner and grocery shopping with the family.
Today's workout would have been:
Can't say I'm excited about missing this one, and I may choose to do some version of it on Friday. It looks like my kind of weight workout, tbh.
Today's food (already eaten and what's planned):
- lemonade fizz (fresh lemon juice, ginger, honey, and mineral water)
- Cowboy Eggs (open face tortilla with lentils, veggies, and a little cheese - topped with an egg)
- almonds & pumpkin seeds
LUNCH (not my best lunch - I was cleaning out the fridge for the week)
- cucumber slices
- raw peanut butter with ceylon cinnamon
- kiwi fruit
- hot tea
- raw carrot
- blood orange
- coffee or tea
- Vegetable Plate at the Farmer's Market
- possible dessert, shared with the the family
