Having been stalled for the last couple of months (can you say too much holiday cheer?), and then resetting my goals, I'm thrilled to see my scale is once again headed in the right direction. I've leapt from the edge of the plateau and am soaring into the next adventure along my journey to health and fitness! WooHoo!!!!!!

Vegetarian + Sugar-Free + Gluten-Free....is there such a recipe?

The switch to primarily vegetarian/flexetarianism...not so bad.

Sugar-Free a little more difficult, but doable.

Top that off with gluten-free and it's one heckuva challenge. emoticon

If scientists would only develop some kind of one-a-day that truly meets all of our nutritional/dietary needs, keeps us full, and gives us lots of energy...now, that's one prescription I'd be more than happy to fill!

    Yup, working out the food sensitivities with my naturopath. I'm supposed to stay away from these things while being treated to fully benefit. Not so easy to do the more restrictive and unique my diet becomes.

    I hear ya.... I have been tweeking my diet as well.... I haven't had meat in a week.... Yay me !

I just saw a program on dairy cows and cow they are treated and also how BAD dairy is for complexion and now am contemplating giving up cheese....

:O( I love cheese.... I am not sure I can give it up....anyway I packed my salad today.... with NO CHEESE. ugghhh I will try to at least cut back for the poor cows sake and I will see if it makes a difference in my complexion....I don't drink milk anymore, I haven't drank milk in maybe 6 months around the time frame I saw FODD INC. , I gave up milk and ALL PORK products at that time. They treat the pigs HORRIBLY ! and pigs are SO SMART.

I agree sugar is not usually a problem for me, but wheat/gluten giving up that.....oh man that is a challenge.

Why are you giving it up? are you finding you have an allergy ?

Eating and Exercising and Whatnot for my Blood Type

Dr D'Adamo, author of 'Eat Right For Your Blood Type' and 'The GenoType Diet', just might be onto something with this research on blood type and other genetic factors that affect our health and weight loss efforts. His description for this Type A is so right on it's amazing.

I've only read excerpts from his website so far. His books are definitely on my 'must read' list this year, as I continue to discover what this ol' body needs to reach optimal health.

Blood sugar, cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, LDL...it's enough to drive me crazy! Ever since the dr started tracking my cholesterol numbers back in 2007, my results have been all over the board. Sometimes I'm improved in one or two numbers, while worsening in others, and it's not a consistent trend. How the heck is a girl supposed to figure out exactly what it is her body needs???? Arrrggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell I received my newest blood work results this morning?

    Red yeast rice can be combined with niacin, but according to my naturopath, only works for some. She's having me take niacin with copper glycinate, which she says her patients have overall better success with. I might talk to her about adding the red yeast rice, although it's also a statin.

    I know how you feel. I have done awful on improving on anything but calories. I need to read a book on nutrition, I think.

Bootcamp Day 3!

Spark's Bootcamp...what a great way to start off the year! I haven't really used the SP workout videos before, so am enjoying being exposed to new ideas for getting and keeping fit. Who knew the stability ball could work your core so beautifully?!
