U have a notebook i write down what I ate, what exercise I did. calories WW points.
How i felt, the wether and daily gossip stuff, appts. etc

    I agree, good mental therapy. I write down my game plan for the next day. meetings/exercises/work/chores before i go to bed.
next day it gives me a goal. If i get it all done or most i feel like I did good.
I like to write down gossipy stuff too. I predict what is happening. i only tell these secrect to Mrs.Pennypacker.
Sometimes. a lot of times i am right! it is funny.

  I have journaled all my life, I love to write and it keeps me accountable, plus it helps we work our problems. I use it to track my food and it helps me, I can eat a lot more than I think! I also think it is good mental therapy. Diane emoticon

Tracking a Jogging route

I tried tracking my route I jogged, but couldn't get it right as i backtrack over a couple streets.
My pedometer said I went 3 miles.
from what I could track on the Sparkpeople Fitness page it was a little over 2 miles, but as I said, a couple streets were missing.
Any suggestions on how i could get the route milage tracker to track my whole route?
What would be more accurate, my pedometer or the thing on this site?
I have a clip on , round, OMRON Pedometer. i always thought it seemed accurate, I had tested it long ago driving the route. Car is in garage can't check it that way. emoticon

    Thanks , both comments helped a lot.
I track on site a little over 3 miles. My pedometer said 3.88.
I wonder why pedometer is saying I went further?
I have a short stride/short legs could that make a difference. There isn't away to set the stride lenght that I know of.

I won't say how long it took me to go 3 miles. It is sad, very sad.

I try to go faster. i only started back jogging about 2 weeks a go and missed 3 days because of rain

    Make the track as big as you can. then put the points .... for me when I went down coves I would put my first point on the right side of the road where the two road connect, put a point at the end and then a point on the left side of the road back at the beginning. That way my it would show that I went down and back up. And if you go one way then turn around and come back the same way there is a button that you can click. It's under the "build your route" It has "and back?" It will double what you have pinned, so you only have to pin your roads once. (took me away to figure that out.) Hope I'm confusing you.

    I had the same problem with my route, so I had to click outside the first track to make additional points for the route. But I think that there's a way you can click return route and it should route you back to your starting point.

If you are going to a picnic and have to bring something, what is good to make and bring that would be Sparkfriendly?

    Or you be the activities organizer to get everyone up and moving and having fun doing it. Have some kids against grownups contests, silly games, and right after eating, how about storytelling about your favorite veggie or fruit.

Prizes could be zip bags of veggie sticks or fruit.

    watermelon, fresh fruit salad, or a layered veggie salad are always favorites at any covered dish picnic I attend.

    Thanks for all the comments. i like a fruit salad and cold salad of beans and veggies WITHOUT mayo and oils. berries, red grapes and Canteloupe are on sale now that will work. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Do you do anything different when exercising outside in the heat?

    I try to avoid outdoor exercise in Georgia heat and humidity but if I do venture out it has to be first thing in the morning before I 'wake up' and talk myself out of it!

    If I am exercising outside I do it as early as possible. One day this week I was out at 6:15. Since I usually just walk, I find my pace has slowed down in the heat, so today I walked at a comfortable pace and just added another loop to my walk. Ended up doing 10000 steps.

  I get up and walk my dogs earlier before the real hot air comes in. I also have 2 pools in the complex where I live so I go swimming and walk around in the pool. The pool gives me a great workout and I don't feel as hot. Have a great weekend!

Do you eat fast food, how often, what place and what do you pick.

I used tolike taco Bell. I haven't been to one in a while. I have a 5 dollar gift card for Subway what would be the best thing to get. ?

    I blew it yesterday with Red Velvet pancakes from IHOP...I only ate half though. 400 calories, but nothing good for me in there. Bad Cindy! emoticon

    The fast food industry is getting better but sometimes wonder if what they post is really the amount of calories in the article of food
Subway is good because you have many choices and of course the dressing has the most calories

    Subway has some great $5 footlongs....a 6" will fit in Bob's plans and you can save the other half for another meal....I also like to pick a favorite 'sub' but have them make it up as a salad!!!
