Has anyone ever had Tofu? What does it taste like?
Are good way to prepare it?
I never tried it, but want to.

I want to try using it too. I bought a frozen "Amy's Tofu Scramble" and it was really good. Going to try doing something creative.

Agree with Naolee....It depends on what types of foods/ spices you like...tofu on its own is a bland tasting 'sponge' that will absorb the flavors you cook it with...experimentation is fun and tofu is relatively motto is I can eat anything ONCE...some of my experiments become family favorites...others, the dog even turns her nose at! LOL... emoticon

Hi: First you have to know what is tofu; it's also called bean curd, is a food made by coagulating soy milk and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks. You can find a lot recipes in the internet. You'll find recipes here of Tofu. I'm Hispanic and we prepare food different to other cultures or every culture prepare the food different because we are looking for different tastes. I can tell you to buy some Tofu and try a recipe here. For me taste good; but the difference is how you prepare the main ingredient. Buy it and try it with one of the recipes here. I hope you like it.

Bike Riding.

Sunday, July 29, 2012

Do you ride around neighborhood or take bike in car to someplace to ride?
Do you take bike on vacations/
Do you wear a helmet.

I ride around home, sometimes take bike to ride on Boardwalk, and i don't wear a helmet.

my first love had a metal plate in his head from a bike accident as a child. He was riding down a hill and the chain fell off of his coaster brake bike. There was a car coming up the hill with parked cars on either side of the road. His choice was to hit the moving car or a parked car. He wisely chose the parked car. Of course kids didn't wear bike helmets back then.

so when you hear adults talk about how 'we never wore helmets'...some changes ARE for the better.

as much as I dislike the helmet, I wear it. It keeps my hair out of my face too!

To all who have bikes, I wish you well, but you need to wear a helmet. Have fun.

there is no place near the house to ride. Our subdivision is less than 30 houses, one street. And we are off of a very busy state hwy.

I keep my bike at the office and ride to the Y for my workouts or ride around town. Most of the areas have bike lanes. I do wear a helmet (promised DH and my dad that I would).

yesterday I rode for an hour. I love riding my bike because I generate enough of a breeze to keep from getting too hot. I usually don't realize how sweaty I am until I stop riding and discover my clothes are drenched!

I do take my bike on vacations. I take it to girl's week every year and when DH and I go to the beach, we both take our bikes.

If we are just going to visit his family in KY, I take the dogs to the park for a run/walk to get my exercise. Although they do have a great neighborhood for bike riding.

Normally I ride around the neighborhood, but this morning I hit the backroads for a 12-miler. I don't wear a helmet. My bike will fit in the back of my Jeep, but I have to really adjust the seats and then my mirrors are I normally don't take it anywhere.

I ride sometimes. I wear a helmet mainly because my kids are required to wear helmets.

Do you like to swim for exercise, as in doing laps?

I LOVE swimming laps, but get to do so only occasionally,

But I'm hoping to go tomorrow (our city pool let's lap swimmers swim while the swim team is working out, and while they teach swim classes so their mornings are available even though the pool is technically closed).... last summer I had worked up to 2 miles, but haven't gotten that far this summer.... I expect that I'll aim for a mile tomorrow... I'm slow, but I get it done.

I got to do laps at a pool party on the 28th. But I live in the country, do not have transportation to get to a bus stop ( only in emergencies) and believe me I think it is a sin that the Y charges so much. I am low income. and they still want 50-60 a month.

I'd love to have access to a pool. Unfortunately, can't afford the local Y's fees right now. If I could, I'd do some laps, some water walking, and some just plain swimming for fun.

If I had access to a pool, I'd be there every day! I love to swim and do laps! Unfortunately I have not been swimming since I lived in Florida in 2006.
