Even though I am a coffee drinker, I have to say from experience...yes! ( Plus-that is a great article from Mayo clinic!)

In school we took each other's blood pressure at the beginning of the semester then again at the end of the semester as we were preparing for final the time mid you I was not drinking the 2 cups/ day I drink now...but 2 POTS of coffee aday single handed!!!

My BP went through the roof....!

LOL..of course it no doubt was because of the extreme high doses of caffiene and lack of sleep along with 'exam week'....stilll, anyone with chronic high blood pressure probably would do well to limit or eliminate the caffiene.

I'm a tea drinker myself, but I just googled your question.

Check out this answer from the Mayo Clinic (a very reliable source):

    Wow Way to go!!!!
I measured myself last week, I think. I've never like measuring myself. I don't mind seeing the scale saying I'm fat, but I hate seeing the tape saying I'm fat.
I am going to try to measure at least once a month.

I just started taking my measurements last month, and I plan to do it about once a month. I like that it's another way of measuring progress instead of just relying on the (sometimes frustrating) scale.

emoticon on losing all those inches! That must feel emoticon

I don't take any, but I should. Now on my food log I track all the vitamins that is in the food I eat, just to see if I'm getting what I need.

I don't track them, personally. I know there are some calories in them, but it's so minimal. Some might disagree with me and say it's important to track every single individual calorie. That's fine, but I figure there's a lot of estimation when it comes to tracking calories and I'll be off plus or minus each day anyway. A couple fish oil pills and vitamins aren't going to break the bank.

Thank you all for the insightful comments about diet soda. I will think twice about drinking it now I know why it is bad. I don't drink much, but less or none would be better.

Loaded with chemicals, including artificial sweeteners that are potentially carcinogenic and they feed your sweet tooth, making you crave more... Should we go on?

DOGSTARDADDY 7/18/2012 4:10PM

I think the issue is with the type of sweetener they use. I was reading a very complicated article about how high levels of artificial sweetener trick the body into thinking it needs more/less insulin, so the body will store more fat. So even tho it has no calories, it can end up making you gain weight. I try to limit myself to one a day.

welllllll have you ever read what is in a diet soda???

Carbonated Water, Caramel Color, Aspartame, Phosphoric Acid, Potassium Benzoate (to protect taste), Natural Flavors, Citric Acid, Caffeine
PHENYLKETONURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE Caffeine Content: 31 mg/8 fl oz, 61 mg/16 fl oz

(did you know that "natural flavors is another term for MSG?
ensources.html )

and now the sciencetist are saying that there is link between caramel coloring and cancer.

I know it's not drain cleaner, but it's not natural either. You can't go out to your "coke" tree and pick it. It has to made.
take each ingredient and look it up, see how it is made, where it comes from.
for me personally ...... it's a chemically made liquid that is wonderful for getting the battery acid off of your cars battery post.
do I drink soda? I have and probably will again. (I'm not a very smart person)
People will tell you there is nothing wrong with it, but this is one of those questions that you have to answer for your self. For me? I makes my gallbladder hurt, so there for I try very hard to avoid all sodas!
