Away I go

Eating Atkins. Yeah, I made good strides but holy crap. My skin got dry, flaky and my face skin started to look REALLY old. Paleo diet starts tomorrow!

Best of luck with Paleo. I've seen lots of people have good results eating that way. It just takes some time to get used to!

Figuring it out

Friday, January 18, 2013

So the weight loss seemed to come to a screeching halt. So I did a little research. My answer, too much dairy, too few carbs and not enough calories. My problem has been I have been under eating. Imagine that. Too little. So Time to retweak what I am eating and work at it a little more. Lets hear it for figuring it all out!!!!!!!!

I hit a long stall awhile back myself. The thing that got me back on plan was just what you mention here: eating more, and allowing my carb allotment to creep up just a bit. This concerns me, because it was very tough to "go low" there - I'm such a carb junkie! But it worked. You just have to find the new "right values" for you.

Good luck!

Yeah, sometimes it's the little things that stop everything in its tracks. Add in some calories, but don't go crazy with the carbs!!

Atkins day 15

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

I have been totally without a sugar craving for almost a week now. I felt stressed out and didn't feel compelled to find a chocolate bar or a bowl of cereal. I feel the best I have in years. I am still a little tired but that kind of comes with the territory. Got up, took kids to school and even hit the gym this AM. Shower will be in order soon once I stop sweating. I am hitting about 1200-1500 calories a day. I don't miss a lot of things I used to. My attitude is improving too.

On a related but unrelated note, one of the local music producers that has ties to 2 florida labels wants me to Dj a night of Trap and Moomrahton music with him at some point soon, woohoo! The girl is finally getting invites to the boys' club! And I got a job interview for my dream job yesterday. I will know by friday if I've gotten the job. It'd be a change of pace, a pay hike, salaried and instant benefits!!!!! Everything just seems positive right now.

Grats on the DJ invite and best of luck on the job prospect.

When I eat low carb I know I feel better, less bloated, more clear minded, etc. It's amazing how that works. Good for you for sticking with it!

Yep, again....and this time it's personal.

Friday, January 04, 2013

Time to hit the weight loss resolutions and this time it's personal. i no longer like the way I look, the way I feel, and my body like it is, is actually a detriment to me going forward. I am changing, even as i type this, I am changing. Down 7 pounds from my start. I need to lose 6 times that much. At least. But I am taking each step as a boon forward.

Reset

Monday, November 26, 2012

Yep, I seem to do that alot. About a month and a half ago I went into work. Got everything ready for my patients and was pulled aside by my supervisor to be told I was being laid off. They didn't warn the doctor I had worked with for the last 6 years or anyone else, I was replaced with 2 newer part timers so they could save on insurance and wages. I was devastated. I had lived that job since I left nursing school. My old Friends candy corn and chocolate rejoined me. I moped and muddled.

I have had some time to reflect. I was pretty burned out. I wasn't aware of it at the time. I needed a change, but never would have made that change by myself. I call it all for the better. But Lady have mercy you'd have thought someone told me I was diagnosed with cancer of the puppy.
Today was first day back at the gym. I need to make that a daily thing again. I felt so much better afterwards. Just time to get back on track. Had an awesome Saturday night at a friends B-day party. My fellow Dj's and I tore it up for 6 1/2 hour solid!!!!!!! Great new tuneage btw. M y gem from the evening is right here.

It was such a good night. Reset my attitude in a big way.

Sorry to hear about you being laid off, that sucks, but it is happening all over the place right now. With the Obamacare regulations coming into play soon, employers are laying off full timers and hiring part timers so they don't have to provide insurance coverage!

Take this idle time and explore yourself. Get into the gym regularly to take care of your body and to clear your mind of other distractions. Luckily for you, nurses will always be in demand somewhere, although it may require a change in locale to land a good spot somewhere. But you can always look at is an adventure!
