    14. Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going. -Jim Ryan

Found you some motivation. There're 25 quotes here, the one above being my favorite at this moment. That's one for every day you need to turn your motivation into a habit, and once it's a habit, you won't have to fight it anymore.

Thoughts for the day....

Wednesday, September 04, 2013

I don't know why I thought that my progress would be easy, but its not!!!! and guess what I'm ok with that. Each I find myself making progress in little ways and I rejoice in everyone of them.
Starting with my weight loss... 8 pounds in the last week. yes I am thrilled but like everyone I was hoping for more.

Got the report from my blood work and it was good. My A1C was high but I knew it would be. My bad Cholesterol was in the good range. The good Cholesterol was low. but overall it was a good report.

So I know everyone is saying.....Ron stop your whining. Don't misunderstand me I am grateful.

Great Doctors report.......

Today I got a great report from my Doctor. The blood work was good. I had stress test that was completely normal. The best news was when he told me I didn't have to come back for 6 months....

Sunday, August 11, 2013

I know this is not a sprint but a marathon. Yesterday I had a bad day but I know that if i keep in the race I will win. So that is what I did. And today I lose 1 pound. I was surprised how losing that 1 pound makes you feel better. So today I just keep one going.....

Good job and congrats on the 1 lb. I never gave much thought to what 1 lb actually was until one day at the grocery store picking up 1 lb of turkey burger; held the pack up to my belly LOL...that's significant. emoticon

ok what's going on?

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Eating right...exercising. ...and this happens.... a gain of almost 10 pounds. This could really drive a guy crazy. I must be missing something. So its back to the drawing board. In the past this is where I would say to hell with it and quit. Not this time there is to much at stake. Yes this is a major setback but I know that my clothes are looser and I feel better so I must be doing something right. I do know if it was easy I would of lost the weight years ago. Just wish me luck because I am determined to get this deadly weight off my body.

Remember progress is also measured in inches. You've already noted your clothes fit better. The same volumes of fat and muscle weigh different amounts! Perhaps your body has just added muscle, and you're losing the fat but can't see it because you're focused on the pounds. Water can make a difference, that's true. I wouldn't expect it to be ten pounds, but a few wouldn't be unimaginable. Keep measuring by pounds AND inches, and don't give up. Things are changing, even if not in exactly the steps you'd envisioned. Hang in there! You'll make it!

DO NOT GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!

Just accept that that number on the scale is just an average! If you get on 10 times in a day ..you'll have 10 different weights.

Muscle weighs more than fat..and if your clothes are fitting better that may be the answer. Or fluid retention, did you have too many salty snacks?

Are you using the nutrition tracker here on SPARK? I think that is one of the best tools, it keeps you accountable.

So stay Strong! Stay on track! emoticon

First - congratulations on wanting to do something about your health! Second - do not give up. Keep doing what you are doing. Log your nutrition, water and exercise.

I know I can have three to five pound swings in my weight due to fluid retention.

Just remember to log your food and this should give you some indication on what is happening. And the exercise will burn off that consumed food. Drink plenty of water because you really need it for the entire process to work.

JUST KEEP WORKING AT IT AND THE REWARDS WILL COME!
