I'm back

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Hey everyone. I have been away on training and have neglected Spark People. i am back now and vow to keep up on all things spark oriented. I have gained more weight and am having trouble keeping my priorities in order. Military training is lots of work and lots of food. However, obviously the food out weighed the work. Please stay with me and help me get back on track. For those who were with my team, which has been disabled, I am trying to get it back. Have a great week and good luck in all of your endeavours!!!

Good attitude! You CAN do this- you know your body is getting lots of good workouts in the military but they do have some really good cooking and sometimes it is tempting to "keep up" with the guys on food intake. I gained weight "keeping up" with the big guy, my husband- but we decided to get in shape together and he has lost over 50 pounds! I haven't lost as much or as fast but that's ok as we are doing it together. Do you have anybody there to work on this with you? A buddy can get you through tough things and times- as you know by now- whether you need distractions, a swift kick or a good pat on the back for doing well.

Hope to hear you are making progress soon, you are already headed in the right direction! emoticon emoticon

I have a date!!!! With me and fitness and I'm not breaking it!!

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Everyday I am challenged with time management, priorities and the guilt if I let anyone down. I try to please everyone, but I tend to put myself last. By putting myself last I mean that I put off my journey to better health by taking short cuts. When I deal with my subordinates or superiors, I never take short cuts because I believe if it is worth doing, it is worth doing well. Why I don't approach my weight loss and improved fitness this way, I do not know. Well this week I will try to make an appointment for all fitness endeavours because I do not miss appointments when dealing with others. I will also take the time to reflect each day by writing in my journal and ensure that I write down things I am grateful for as well as things that push my buttons. For some of us, this weight journey is a constant battle but one I am willing to fight. My favorite saying is "One day at a time, Sweet Jesus" and that is how I will carry on this week. Good Luck to all in their weight loss efforts and remember, Good things come to those who wait. emoticon

What a week!!

Saturday, January 09, 2010

Well a week of army training over and boy am I old. It's amazing how different exercises affect you. You can walk miles and you're fine but then strap a bunch of weight to your back, walk through the woods through snow and all this done with parkas, boots, long underwear etc.. and your age seems to paste on your forehead and you finally remember that you're not 18 anymore. However, it was a good week, all my bones hurt and I intend to do a lot of stretching today so I don't completely seize up. I hope everyone had a good week and next week I should be able to stick to the program better. Weigh in is on Tuesday so maybe I will be lighter and that would make me very happy.
Go Team!!!

I will not give up on this boot camp.

One of the biggest things I have to learn is to fit fitness in with my everyday life. I was training all day with the military and even though I didn't do the video, trust me, I got lots of cardio, weight bearing exercises. Food wasn't the best but I bet we worked it off. Also, I will not give up on this challenge. I will be doing the challenge tomorrow and every day possible. I vow not to let my SP friends down in any way!!
Good Luck with all challenges.

So Today wasn't so great

Tuesday, January 05, 2010

Well boys and girls, I went down 1.4 lbs which was good but because it is weigh in day I normally cheat in the food department. Not only did I cheat but it was freezing rain when I got home so I didn't walk the dog so only 3 km today. Tomorrow I have to work from 0715 - 2130 so I am not going to get an evening walk in tomorrow either.
Oh well, I will get my video done and tomorrow I know I am eating army food so it isn't going to be lo cal but I'll try to do better on Thursday. Not much hope when I'm under someone elses food regime and schedule. No excuse. I could take the dog out right now but I am just getting my supper and I'm getting up at 0445 so I'll be in bed in an hour or so.

Boy this whole blog sounds like a whole bunch of whining to me....What do you think??

Sometimes it's just hard to keep with the program. Do what you can until you can give it more time. You'll get back to it.

emoticon, feel free to whine; you're in the right place! emoticon
