I used to tend toward "all or nothing" thinking. If I couldn't get all of my 8 glasses of water in, I'd not want to log in any. If I couldn't get my 7 hours of sleep in, I didn't want to log in the 5 hours I actually got. If I didn't get the full amount of protein I needed, I'd think, "so what" instead of thinking "how can I add enough protein to my day's menus? Now that I've been on Sparkpeople long enough to really be enthusiastic and have reached the stage of maintenance, I've quit the "all or nothing" thinking. If I can't get all of my two mile a day walk in, I still get in as much walking as I can, log it on Sparkpeople and am amazed at how many miles I can cover in a month. Each day is a new opportunity to go from doing nothing to reaching a goal.
