My Debut As a Fashion Model

Friday, March 30, 2012

I live in a Senior Living Community and we are trying to raise money for a new van. One of our residents came up with the idea of a fashion show. A boutique in a nearby town supplied the fashions and 13 of us volunteered to be models. I had lost 10 pounds on Sparkpeople almost 5 years ago and have continued to log in my food and exercise each day on maintenance, so I felt confident enough in my slimmer self to volunteer as a model. It was so much fun trying on new spring fashions at the shop and the owner helped us pick fashions that fit right and looked good on us. I was thrilled to be able to wear size 6 white capri pants and a white shell with rose-colored cardigan to go over it. I felt so good in it and one of my daughters sent me a birthday check so I could buy it. The attendance at our fashion show exceeded our wildest dreams and it looks like we'll be getting a new van. We had so much fun, we may do it again next spring. l

A Great Blessing

Monday, December 05, 2011

Today I got to hold my first great-granddaughter, named after me and born Dec. 1. What an amazing experience! She is so beautiful with lots of black hair and so precious in my arms.
I have to leave to go back home tomorrow, but I'll always remember this once in a lifetime experience. Thanks be to God!
